WEBSITE: http://saltwaterexperience.com Video Description... Tom Rowland shows how the Uni Knot can be used to set up an entire fishing outfit from the bare spool to the hook, including tying braided line to Fluorocarbon. If you were to learn only one fishing knot, this is the one. ********************************************************************** SPONSORS: http://www.hawkscay.com/ http://www.yellowfinyachts.com/ http://www.basspro.com http://www.mercurymarine.com http://www.quantumfishing.com http://www.lowrance.com/en/ http://www.motorguide.com/ http://www.corrosionblock.com/industry/marine.html http://www.fla-keys.com/ http://loadmastertrailer.com/ http://www.scottflyrod.com/ http://www.power-pole.com/ https://www.costadelmar.com/home http://www.yeticoolers.com/ http://www.kingsailfishmounts.com/ http://www.goldeagle.com/brands/stabil/ http://www.planomolding.com/ http://www.trueflies.com http://www.frabill.com/ ********************************************************************** RELATED VIDEOS: Video Title: link Video Title: link Video Title: link

don't use uni to uni when you do braid to mono!

A great knot for lures . Let's them move freely . Wash D C

Isn't this just a different way of making a "quad fisherman's knot"? Still a very reliable knot and I enjoyed the video, just curious.

I remember stepping up from blood knots to the UNI knot 35 years ago... very nice video which also brings a sense of nostalgia to me.
ivan milosevic (22 days ago)
uni is a great knot, video is excelent... but uni on the hook is great recipe for bad hookups ant tons of lost fish. its great knot just not aplicable to hooks. uni is also bad choice for line to leader connection for deep sea fishing or pelagic speaces as it is to big of a knot for casting heavy leader trough the guids and it cant bear the stres that big fish will impose(compared to fg). i wish you all tight lines

The Uni is a terrific one, thank you for this easy to follow demonstrational.

WOW! Every fisherman needs this knot. Excellent video
Solid Snake (29 days ago)
Thank you so much. I'm ready for fishing now.

Here is a thought for a modifies uni to uni knot. Before cutting both tag ends can you put 1 to 2 hitch knots to help them go thru your guides a little easier like how they finish up a fg knot.
marlon agostini (1 month ago)
As a first time Fisher, this knot has come in really handy. I can't thank you enough
ReefLife (1 month ago)
Since you did videos on both the Alberto knot and the uni to uni knot which do you prefer for leader to line connections?
Saltwater Experience (1 month ago)
I probably lean toward the Double Uni, but it is personal preference. Both are strong, solid knots

I found this video when I started fishing, no one to teach me other than YouTube...I use this knot a lot, and it is great. So easy to do too once you find a decent video like this one. Thank you.

Almost the Clinch Knot, which seems a bit easier actually but normally, cinches all the way down on the hook eye. If I ever want the hook dangling in a loose loop, I use Fisherman's Knot. I like this Uni for joining two lines, like the pink and white line example in the vid. Thanks.
Patrick McCambridge (1 month ago)
I have not tried this knot but plan to start practicing, but my immediate concern, doing the double-uni to attach two lines seems simple when you use white / pink lines but what about doing the double on exactly similar lines that are hair thin (like 2 lb test or #5 tippet)?
Saltwater Experience (1 month ago)
No problem Easier than a blood knot

I’ve watched several different videos on this subject. Yours is the best and most helpful as far as being able to see how the knot is formed. Thank you. Excellent work.
Jian-Ping Shen (1 month ago)
I thought I invented this one after fishing more than 40 years --- I lost lots of fish before I tired out this kind of tight and found out this one is one of the best
Sean Cassidy (1 month ago)
What is this one specifically called ? I've been away from the angling scene for quite some time. Purchased some spiderwire stealth braid and my standard uni knot would not hold at all...and I know how to tie that one with my eyes closed. This know however cinched up nice and tight with not issue whatsoever. Thank you very much :)

I always join two lines using two fisherman knots. Wet with spit, draw down fast, snip the two ends about one-sixteenth inch. never had one give, even with an 81 lb. fish on the line.

Your video allowed me to master the knot this weekend. I didn't have to wait for someone else to do my knots. Thank you for this video

Amazing knot i never knew but have seen. Thankyou.
Melvin Gillham (2 months ago)
Ive been fishing 50 of 56 yrs and never saw this. Have used the knot you see (or used to) on the packages of eagle claw hooks mostly. But they never turned out right for me, so i adlibbed extra knots in support. Lol, so simple a knot and i see the strength. The knowledge is so very appreciated!
bulldogs7177 (2 months ago)
This is the only knot I know. Apparently the guy that taught me this knot knew what he was talking about.
Jason Jackson (2 months ago)
Great video. I learned the clinch knot over 55 years ago and still use it in one form or another. Thanks for the update.

My grandpa showed me this when I was 7 and I have used this knot ever since. Thumbs up👍

Owen Wilson????? Is that you?
Leonard Martin (2 months ago)
Bs. No good for light fluorocarbon. Breaks everytime you set the hook. I hope your wallets faaaa, cause ir you use this knot with 12' or less FLUOROCARBON you'll keep Base Pro Shops in business. Use Mark Zona's shark knot, the Miller knot, or Ken Smith's knot. This is for tyingto the lure now!! Uni knot is great for tying lines together!!! Keep um tight boys!!!
Cody S. (2 months ago)
Whenever I get hung, I have a bad streak of these knots slipping on me and I lost my tackle. What am I doing wrong? I DO pull the knot down to the eyelet. Do I need to leave a little loop?
Jimmy Kimber (2 months ago)
is it good for heavy mono
BackcountryMedic (2 months ago)
This is literally one of the only knots I tie! It's a killer. Never lost a hook on it in 20 years of fishing!

Great fishing knot... oddly, it reminds me of a noose. Works very well in a number of applications though... I have yet to have a uni come loose. Thank you!

adam ant (3 months ago)
why would you leave a loop near the hook and not just tighten it all the way down?

Lets be real folks; trying to learn and remember all those fancy knots can be overwhelming! Last year I went surf fishing for first time EVER, I had no idea what I was doing to begin with, but this uni knot worked like a charm and its my go to fishing knot in addition to the palomar knot.
JustFishing (3 months ago)
Who the hell ties mono to braid to fluoro?
Saltwater Experience (2 months ago)
I think almost everyone in the State of Florida

Good video, Great knot, and nice to see you show how to use it for line-to-line tie. It is my favorite knot for attaching jigs to monofilament, fast and dummy-proof once you have done it 100 times, ha ha,

cant see the hook position and going to fast.

I don't get can you do it again?
les4lifepaul (3 months ago)
this knot is total shit for fishing line. 6-8 lb line it pulls right out. It is VERY strong with rope, the rope will break while the knot gets tighter. just my experience, but no good for smaller fishing line.
edward charles (3 months ago)
Your "double uni knot" is actually a blood knot!
Saltwater Experience (3 months ago)
No, its a double uni. A blood knot is different and also referred to as a barrel knot. I have a blood knot video on this channel.

Reel500 (4 months ago)
FG and uni to uni for line to line, trilene for when the line is too short but you need to replace the hook on your existing rig, palomar for your hook the strongest that I tested. Snell knot for rigging 2 hooks on a bait, dropper loop or double overhand knots for bottom rigs...….one uni knot wont cut it all.
Saltwater Experience (4 months ago)
I have 40+ knots on this channel. I agree with you that one knot might not be perfect for all situations. I use about 15 different knots in my fishing. This video, however, is a way to learn 1 knot that can work for 90% of all fishing situations. This one is as close as you can get to one knot that will suffice in most fishing situations
MrDambler77 (4 months ago)
Really easy to understand, many thanks indeed!

That's a great knot. I use that for everything.
