Guess I wanted to remind you again if you don’t mind, are you aware you haven’t turned on an automated caption through your YouTube studio setting? Thanks again!

Where i find save to Keep extension? I cannot see her on chrome web store . https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/save%20to%20keep
Christopher Dixon (17 days ago)
Big Fan Here! Gotta Question. Is there any way to directly transfer Google Keep notes from one Google Keep account to another????
A b (19 days ago)
save to google keep really does not capture a screen shot at times only captures the URL. This becomes a problem when you are trying to save a . screen shot from your email. It would be nice to have everything in Google keep but instead it re routes you back to your email via a link
Craig Nansen (27 days ago)
Taking text from a graphic is very useful for (a) business cards that have been scanned or a photo image and (b) pdf documents.
SuperchargeDeals (29 days ago)
Steve, not only can you change the category names in the Category Tabs extension, as someone already mentioned earlier in the comments, but in your own video above, you actually showed the page for installing the Category Tabs extension, and that very page shows renamed tabs right on the banner! (Check your video above at 8:00.) BTW, not only can you change the color names to more useful names, but you can also change the ORDER of the color tabs! To make these changes, click on the Google Keep sidebar on the left and, below Settings you'll find "Customize Categories", where you can rename them and reorder the tabs. To change the order, move them around using the little equal signs to the right. Always look forward to all of your videos! :-)

Thanks Steve this is really helpful

Grab image text only grabs roman letters as far as I can discern and only works in a browser window. This function is not available in android on a mobile device.
Gabriele Girardi (23 days ago)
Yes you can do it at least with android system. Open the note and then click on the photo already taken. Then click on the three dots menu. Voilà

I've been a fan now for a few years now and continue to be so. Great video as always!
Ridder van Doorne (1 month ago)
too bad you can not re arrange the notes, by date and time. Maybe it can be done but i cant find it,... :(
john Aalegaard (1 month ago)
looking forward to when Google upgrade a snapshot feature to the "webclipper" extension:)
mark palmos (1 month ago)
Hi again, just to mention, if you upgrade to galaxy note 9, you can marquis select/copy any portion of the screen and paste that bit in Keep ...
jerry joanis (1 month ago)
You can change names on "Category Tabs", "right-click" on the icon, and choose OPTIONS. Pretty customizable
mark palmos (1 month ago)
WRT one of the things you said you miss with Evernote, if you use a screen grab programme like Icecream Screen Recorder, you can select a bit of screen to copy, then just paste in Keep. Done. Of course it can be OCR'ed easily as you pointed out.
LagiNaLangAko23 (1 month ago)
Add-ons, extensions? So this is more for desktop than mobile? Haven't watched the rest of it.
Mike Boysen (1 month ago)
You can modify the color category names by using "Customize Categories" which you'll find down below your tags on the left hand panel

Hi, thanks for your useful video. I wonder if Google Keep limit the amount of note or data you use on it? I am thinking of using Google Keep as my learning note but I don't know if it allows me to keep as many notes as I want or not. (I have to not A LOT)

1.- It is possible change the font? 2.- Sometimes, by accident, the text is modified by involuntay contact into the jacket or pocket or whereever. It's possible "block" the text?

Just ran across your channel. Very useful and concise delivery of the information you are presenting. You don't waste any time getting to the point.
MrVanillaCaramel (2 months ago)
One thing Google Keep does NOT do is tell you how many notes you have. (Or at least not on my phone.)
vincent gaudoin (2 months ago)
the thing i do not like about google keep is that you cannot protect your note.
delano88888 (2 months ago)
Full screen edit link is wrong btw ;)
Rob K (2 months ago)
Thanks for the video and tips! Subscribed to the channel. Any ideas on how to best incorporate Keep to work with Docs to capture action items or TODOS when you assign comments to people in Docs? I know Drive has a handy way you could search for all comments that are assigned to you (type "followup:actionitems" in the search bar in Drive), but that only captures comments that were assigned to you vs ones were someone was mentioned.
Lawrence Hall (2 months ago)
As a long time user of Evernote, it became much more than I needed, so I finally replaced it with Alexa lists. They did a great job of a simple lists, and I like yelling shopping items from the kitchen. I will take a look at this, though. Thanks, good video.

You remind me of Tim Allen.

Instead of pinning the tab I used the Chrome function that let you save on your desktop links as they were apps on their own to always have Keep pinned to my taskbar

Mr. Steve, I love all of your videos they are great. I have a question about Google Chrome, when I open Google Chrome it opens to a window called Web Search, I have to x out this to close the window and use Google. Why?? and How do I loose this web search window??? Thanks
dottotech (2 months ago)
you can adjust the start page in Chrome Preferences

Google Keep all day every day.
Chris Valiente (2 months ago)
That's a great question. You should check the documentation perhaps. I don't worry about backing the notes up. I trust Google enough with the notes; God knows they *Google Keep* tabs on you.
Harry Orenstein (2 months ago)
If so, how do you back-up all your Keep notes?

A great video, very informative. I use Keep in Android, I love this app, but location reminders have stopped working after the last update. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks

Is it possible to size the note? or sort it by date or title?
Guus Jansen (3 months ago)
there is a way to rename the colors, through the 'Customize Categories'

sorry, missed the previous reactions on it...
maher ahmed (3 months ago)
nice video, I tried the OCR but it didn't recognize some fonts, is there any way to fix that? Thank you
maher ahmed (3 months ago)
dottotech thank you
dottotech (3 months ago)
Nope, it works or it doesn't
BobRed0965 (3 months ago)
I don't think it was trying to OCR "SONY". It was the "MENU" button.
fyrdog21 (3 months ago)
Thanks for the video Steve. You did not mention a feature of the Chrome Extension for Keep, when you highlight text on the webpage then hit the keep extension, Keep copies that text to the note. You can highlight more text and hit the extension again to copy more text to the note.
Seedthedrummer (3 months ago)
Ok so how do I get google keep to sync with Evernote ??
dottotech (3 months ago)
I guess you could using IFTTT or Zapier, but I am at a loss as to why you would want to.
Shlomo Avdiel (3 months ago)
Really enjoy your work. I have Keep on both the laptop and phone. Make notes on pc and they automatically appear in phone. Really useful for making shopping lists because I already have the list when I get to the store.
Patrick De Pauw (3 months ago)

How to add table in Google keep
林佑思 (1 month ago)
I want to know, too. Input Tab in Google Keep didn't work.
Priya Chandra (3 months ago)
If you right click on the Google Keep Chrome extension you can click on the option to create a new blank note. This is really handy if you're working online (or watching Dotto tech!) and have a thought you'd like to record in Keep without leaving your current browser tab.
Basim Hilal (3 months ago)
Steve, looks like there is an extension available to add color label names for Keep. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/category-tabs-for-google/dlahcjmefibiedeecoegjilekaebchhl

Been using Google Keep as my note taking/To-Do list for a while now. It works great as a To-Do List!

I’ve set the hold clicker caller on my Microsoft Surface pen to open the app. The default was Cortana which is available with a trackpad multitouch gesture anyway.

Hi Steve! I've been enjoying your videos for years. To go to the Keep web page you don't need the "web" extension, just the official "clipper" by Google (when you are on an blank page/tab). I use both Evernote (mainly as a long-term archive and for complex notes or to capture web articles and images) and Keep (almost always on the smartphone, for quick notes and recurring reminders). In the last year I've used a lot more Keep than Evernote, also because I'm not limited to two devices. I'd like Keep to have the notebooks, but I arrange with the various colors and the useful search function. One aspect of Keep that I don't like is the ordering of notes. It makes it less useful if you have a lot of notes. When I'm in a hurry I do not assign the tags, and when the note must remain in evidence I pin it. But I have hundreds of notes (and several tens pinned... I'm a little messy) so, even if pin it, I don't see at the top of the list the last note created. I don't know how Google orders the notes, perhaps it proposes them at the top based on the reminder's expiration time. So I find it hard to keep an urgent note under my eye, even if I pinned it. Is there a solution?
David Glendinning (3 months ago)
3:15 - 3:33 The OCR actually captured the word "MENU" that's written backwards since at least that part of the image was flipped 180º horizontally in the assemblage process... :D When I tried Keep quite a while ago I don't think it had that functionality; now that I know it's there I'll be using Keep. Thanks for pointing it out!
Chas Milner (3 months ago)
I have a list of car shows in Keep, (city, miles, date, name of show) on my Droid smart phone. Recently Keep started linking to web sites and Google Maps that it found related to my entry. Problem is it links multiple shows to one map or website. Kinda nice if I could control it but not so nice uncontrolled. How can I get control or turn this feature off?

Good video mate. Glad you mentioned the ability for the programme to recognise handwriting in images. Thanks for putting in the effort to make this, as a fellow creator I know how much work it is research and produce. Cheers, Steven.
Tracey Smith (3 months ago)
Best Google Keep feature for me is the ability to set repeating reminders. Neither Evernote nor OneNote allow this so for this function (which I use alot) Google Keep is my GO TO tool.
Dave Plummer (3 months ago)
The OCR function even recognizes my cursive handwriting when written at about a 30 degree angle across the screen. Crazy accurate!
李立峰 (3 months ago)
Side note a bit, https://photos.app.goo.gl/3G5hocHy72wLp8Gh6 Google Lens in Google Photos seems more capable than Google Keep's Text grab. See if you could work out a productivity drill on this regard 😉
Surrey Pietras (3 months ago)
I always use Google keep on Android though who has time to run to their computer all day but still good video I guess
stacy ellison (3 months ago)
I am working my way through this video - a bit at a time (not being a whizz kid) . A lot of it I may never use but I keep finding useful hints. I hadn't used Keep before and I think it is going to be a great tool. I am new to these videos and finding them so useful.
Kym McBride (3 months ago)
I have used Google Keep only on my phone. But now that I watched your video, I see I have been missing out. That’s what is good about your videos-I ALWAYS LEARN MORE, even if I think I already know about it! That’s why your my go-to guy.
Sandra Pool (3 months ago)
Shane Ellswood (3 months ago)
‘Grab image text’ is fine for single column text but you’d have a lot of cut and pasting to do if you use it on more than one column.
Gaelyne Gasson (3 months ago)
I have my regular Chrome window open on one screen and a small Chrome window on my other screen that takes up about a third of the screen so I can have Google Keep in front of me most of the time - that way if I need to see what I should be doing or need to check on a note, it's right there.
Christian De Vos (3 months ago)
You can also pin the Google Keep tab by rightclicking on the tab and choose the possibility to pin the tab (I don't know how it is called in English because I use the Dutch version of Chrome).
CYMetro1985 (3 months ago)
Google Keep is great for note-taken as its sync with my Android phone, iPad and Computer but it missing a table feature like what the iOS notes app have. If they add a table feature into google that would be useful to import tables in to Google sheets. Also I think Google Keep should beable to import PDFs files.
Mike Phillips (3 months ago)
Is there an extension, or a way to change the board colors in Keep? The yellow is annoying after awhile.
Upside of Downsizing® (3 months ago)
Thanks, Steve. I am really liking Keep since you introduced me to it!
María Camila (3 months ago)
I think it was “menu” and not “sony” what the OCR identified as иизм
Nivlek (3 months ago)
I never thought of using tGooglr Keep before but now I will. Thanks again Steve.
Kurt Hamel (3 months ago)
As other people have mentioned, I like keep but my main beef is that like many of their products they either kill off or eventually replace. Like they released the Google home devices well over a year ago now (maybe over two?), And they still don't allow you to take notes in Google keep. For example if you want to create a grocery list you have to use a different Google app for that (since it pays them financially). If they allowed you to use keep on Google home, I'd go full in on it.
Chris Pistocco (3 months ago)
Sweet Video!!!!!!!!!!Loved it!!!
Thomas Kilcoyne (3 months ago)
Thanks, Steve, for another great video. I like the Save to Google Keep app. I don't know if that app gives the right click save to Keep option or if that option is separate. I like Keep and look forward to video tips about it.
Karthik Mysore (3 months ago)
👍 Its sad there are not very good extensions to use with keep.. I did like the category one
Christopher Murray (3 months ago)
I think I'll stick with Evernote. The thing with Google is that one day you'll be using one of their applications, and next day you'll find that Google discontinued or duplicated the service as they have frequently done with other applications.
ckmaui (3 months ago)
when on a webpage you can select text and right click and your context menu has the option to save to keep not sure if this is mac only ? or installed when the save to keep extension is installed but the beauty of this is you can select text right click and it saves the selected text and a link to the page often I want to remember something on that page and just having the link I sometimes think ? what was it on this page but this way I have the selection and the link
Rick Mortimer (3 months ago)
This is a HUGE help to me! Thank you!!
Thomas Kilcoyne (3 months ago)
I have that feature on my Chromebooks. Thanks for the reminder.
AJ Walker (3 months ago)
Right-clicking on any open webpage gives me the choice in my context menu. It's a very handy feature.
dottotech (3 months ago)
It is installed with the Keep extension I think, great tip!
AJ Walker (3 months ago)
Yes, I was going to make that suggestion as well. It also works on Windows and I use that feature often for grabbing quotes or lines of research from things I find on the web.
Lisa Adler (3 months ago)
How do you get the old Google keep. They destroyed the grocery list functionality with their "update” on Android. I just want to check a box and it move to the bottom like before now you can't even scroll through it without marking things off, there's no check boxes you just touch and in and it disappears. I guess they didn't think people might want to scroll through a list, it's just too frustrating to use and I have gone back to pencil and paper. Tbh, Google Assistant on my phone is way better than Google home because it can give web results and it's smarter. The only reason to use my Google home for anything, I always have my phone with me, was too say hey Google add xyz to my shopping list whenever I thought of something, now there's no usefulness to my Google home anymore. I've tried ifttt and it's not working can someone PLEASE help me.
Lisa Adler (3 months ago)
Alvin Tanner I'm aware of that and that's exactly the problem.
Alvin Tanner (3 months ago)
I believe Google have moved it to Google Express
Lisa Adler (3 months ago)
Mao González yes it's a little better, but still not what I'd like, which is good old Google keep. I've made the default list a new list called Jabawocky that for now works with the list you linked. I still can't believe there's not a clean way to do it with Google keep using ifttt. Thank you.
Mao González (3 months ago)
Have you seen https://shoppinglist.google.com/ ? I think they will replace it soon...

+SuperTRev I didn't. I specialize making people to comment one more time. Achieve. Even when you say it didn't worth it, I have to thanks you made my night. Thanks for waiting those minutes and ten calories. Thank you sir.

What is the benefit of using colors (with their changeable names) instead of the built-in labels. Seems redundant to me, but i might be missing something.
Thomas Kilcoyne (3 months ago)
I use the colors when I take notes about a vacation. I also use labels. The colors provide a quick visual when I want to review all my notes about a certain trip.
A1Granna (3 months ago)
For me - I use the labels for Projects, etc.....and the colors I use for highlighting items, such as if something is active I use red & that color is labeled NEED TO DO - If I've asked someone a questions and I'm "WAITING ON" a reply from someone that color is YELLOW and called Waiting On. This way, certain times of the day or week, I will check certain colors to see if there's anything I can do about them. Using the Waiting On example it pulls from all my Labels instead of me having to go into the labels and see if I'm waiting on anything. Yes I also set reminders - but it just brings things more visual for me.
Mack Biggs (3 months ago)
Great info. Do you know if Google Keep has voice to text like Evernote? I'm using Evernotes voice to text to create YouTube Video scripts, and creating an ebook.
Mack Biggs (3 months ago)
Yes it does!! Thanks Woody. I also just learned that Google Doc's does speech to text as well!!! :)
Woody Collins (3 months ago)
Mack Biggs yes it does! And I thought it (unscientific) more accurate than Evernote.
Daniel Shanahan (3 months ago)
I miss the “More what?” Section in the intro. :)
Daniel Shanahan (3 months ago)
Nice! Keep us guessing and low stress for you! Win-win!
dottotech (3 months ago)
The issue I have is coming up with something new for each video, I was starting to stress on it, and actually it was slowing me down. But I am glad you liked them, when the muse strikes there will be the odd one.
A1Granna (3 months ago)
You can change the names of the colors (category tabs) - & that button will also take you straight to Keep as well if you click on it. - To change the names of the colors - right click on the add-on button - options - and there you can rename them. It's a great option and I use it all of the time.
Rick Mortimer (3 months ago)
AWESOME!! Thanks for this!
