It is called "Evernote 8", not "iOS 8". Fix the intro.

Evernote for Android finally got the update! Still no better Formatting though. At least they are half way there!

Hi Steve, I accidentally deleted some important notes from Pentultimate notebook. Can the be retrieved? Thanks for all your great videos!
Asger Johansen (1 year ago)
Love your videos! Used Evernote way back in the day and found it rather buggy and lacking some of the features I needed. Really seems like they have come a long way in improving the user experience. Might give it another try. Steve, which other productivity apps do you use? Or which ones would you recommend?

I am from Brazil, and iOS up here is to expensive, doesn't worth for me. So, Evernote for Android is not improved like in iOS. Still works, still love it. But is not the same. Nice channel, nice job and nice content.

is this in the FREE version?

LulusPlannerlife Gmz Yes.

Hi Mr Dotto, I am pretty surprised because I had a chat few minutes ago with an attendant of Evernote and I asked how can I protect a notebook. I have a notebook with all my passwords called "Password"and I want to know how to protect it. She said that's impossible, I have to select all lines and than make the cryptography. It is true? They do not have, in my poor vision, this simple resource? For me is much more simple select the notebook , second click and an option "protect or cryptography"and done. Thanks a lot.

Thanks, just got a new iPhone. Your video gives a great, quick insight into the functionality.

Awesome, dude! Thank you!

Thanks for the video. I have been using Evernote for quite some time and continue learning. Question however: In the part of video talking about "Formatting" , I cannot follow where you are clicking/tapping once you highlight some text in a note.I have tried over and over, and re-watched many times, and I cannot bring up ability to format the text per the video. Please assist. Thanks! (oh, yes I am using iphone7 with latest Evernote version)

Thanks Steve, I wondered what happened to the Camera in Evernote. Found it by watching this video.

How can we make presentations? Where is the option for presentation mode?
William Smith (1 year ago)
Great stuff as always. Thanks Steve.
Hi Steve. I am a Evernote premium user. When I scan a business card I used to have the option that allows me to add to my phone. Now this is not possible. Am I doing anything wrong? Please help.
Shane Phillips I'm using iPhone. I simply can't add the contacts from Evernote to my local phone address book like before

Steve, I'm curious if you've checked out the Mac/IOS note taking app Bear?
dottotech (1 year ago)
No I have not seen it yet, Are you using it?
John Marshall (1 year ago)
Now if they would just update the Mac desktop app with a faster and cleaner interface...

Piero Lagioia (1 year ago)
Is it the same for Android users?
Piero Lagioia (1 year ago)
Thanks! Love your videos
dottotech (1 year ago)
Nope we are waiting on a new version for Android
Stephen Mason (1 year ago)
Thanks for the video Steve. Parsing business card info seems to be a premium feature only. Curious that Evernote's Scannable app does it without a premium account.... Curious if I'm missing something.
dottotech (1 year ago)
Interesting. I don't think you are missing anything.

Good video thanks. Unfortunately I'm finding the new Evernote very buggy and would caution against upgrading. I'm not alone in seeing these problems (have a look at the comments on the App Store) and I have experienced regular freezes and hangs, and for some reason the app keeps asking fir my App Store password. I think the problems are related to syncing over a slow connection.
Nick Morris (1 year ago)
Good to know, thanks. It had got a bit better with the recent release (at the weekend), but it still keeps asking for an App Store login.
John Marshall (1 year ago)
Nick Morris I think it's because it's downloading notes to your device OR that it's indexing and what not. Mine did the same thing on my iPad. Now it's running smoothly.
dottotech (1 year ago)
That sucks, it has been very stable for me.

I have a big problem with Evernote in iOS which unfortunately this update did not solve. (I was sure you would address it but somehow you didn't in your otherwise excellent video.) In ios, Evernote will not allow me to move many notes at once from one notebook to another. I therefore often find myself reaching for my android device just for that feature.
dottotech (1 year ago)
Most people will do that on their desktop, but I see your point, I have never done it on mobile.
mbnbzb (1 year ago)
Good job!!
es136 (1 year ago)
Be nice if you could put out a video comparison of privacy policy of various apps you recommend. Thanks
dottotech (1 year ago)
Sorry, too much work! Can you image crawling through all the TOS to compare! Yikes!
David Shelton (1 year ago)
Thanks Steve!

Brilliant as always Dotto!

Hey Steve. I am of the Android lot but much enjoyed taking a peek into the iPhone version of Evernote I've been reading about as of late. The swipe feature, I think, is particularly awesome. I believe the folks at Evernote are bringing in some valuable features from the task app world with the swipe. Other than the main redesign, the swipe is the one I hope they bring to Android in the oh so near future :-)
dottotech (1 year ago)
You will really like opening on the notes view with the image thumbnails.
Luke B (1 year ago)
Still no nested tagging support. Unbelievable.
Avrum Golub (1 year ago)
To the person who introduced me to Evernote, a big thank you! A nice addition to EmE. Evernote premium + being a member of your Patreon community - synergistic "bangs for the buck ".
dottotech (1 year ago)
Great to see you here Avrum!

I can't see a list of tags on the iOS like you get on windows. It would have been nice as I organise my notes by tags mainly not by notebooks
dottotech (1 year ago)
Thanks Colin
Colin Whalen (1 year ago)
hytube999 - You can filter by tag in the iOS 8 version, buy pulling down gently at the top of the note list (where by default it will be All Notes), this reveals the tag list filter option, and also a reminder filter. You can also put tags in the search field..

Thanks for the video. Just starting to use Evernote again and amazed at how much better it is now on the iPhone. I have been retired for several years and have started to using Evernote to save research information for our upcoming trips and keeping track of our budget and expenses And thank you for the recommendation of Scannable. Wish that I had it when I was working. Incredibly easy to scan and save receipts, documents, etc.
Sue O'Reilly (1 year ago)
Great video Steve! You explain things very well.
dottotech (1 year ago)
Thanks Sue!

Looks like good changes to Evernote app. Thanks for the heads up Steve!

What did you say at 6:09 ? Cuz they tend to...?
Ebubekir Inanc (1 year ago)
sanders2378 Thanks very much
sanders2378 (1 year ago)
Leap frog means jumping over. Here it means that iOS is ahead at the moment but in time it'll be Android ahead, and so on.
Ebubekir Inanc (1 year ago)
Jonathan Tripp What does that mean?
Jonathan Tripp (1 year ago)
Ebubekir Inanc "cuz they tend to leap frog."
Ebubekir Inanc (1 year ago)
Jonathan Tripp No, after that
Ed Wolford (1 year ago)
One problem. How do you assign a tag to a note? It seems like Evernote is abandoning the tag capability altogether.
dottotech (1 year ago)
Thanks Tim
Tim Jasper (1 year ago)
ⓘ add tag (within a note)
Art Johnson (1 year ago)
Thanks so much, Steve. About time we had some positive changes from Evernote. P.S. Love the new look - really like the backdrop, and you're headshot is really clear and crisp. What's going on there? New camera?
dottotech (1 year ago)
Thanks Art, No new camera, still the Logitec c920, Paid more attention to lighting, and better colour balancing using WebCam Settings.
James Brophy (1 year ago)
can you do a video for todo.txt which is way better than evernote
Ebubekir Inanc (1 year ago)
James Brophy Uhm, it's nowhere near better than Evernote. Heck, it's not even a note taking app, it's a to-do app. You're talking about this app here right?: Todo.txt Touch by Gina Trapani https://appsto.re/be/QLusD.i
dottotech (1 year ago)
really? way better? I better have a look!
Barbara Ricker (1 year ago)
Thanks. I saw the change in the interface but, wow, you saved me a lot of time.
quatie (1 year ago)
I'd use it when they had reaccurring reminders
CRAZY6256 (1 year ago)
EVERNOTE for Android version NEVER... LOL do you know when we can expect to get this on Android?
dottotech (1 year ago)
Your guess is as good as mine, I would say in the fall?
