How Timbaland Revolutionized R&B + Hip-Hop and then Reinvented Himself After Addiction | Blueprint

20090 ratings | 992874 views
A master of rhythm and melody, Timbaland always knew he had a gift when it came to music. He'd put it to good use in producing a number of groundbreaking works for the likes of Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. But with fame came delusion and addiction, which trumped his extreme talent. Now, sober and revitalized, Timb has fallen in love with the art form again and set his sights on a new goal: create a classic that will mark the next chapter in his career, just as Quincy Jones did with Thriller. They all wanna know how we do what we do, natural rhythm in tune with the Earth, we're the closest to the innate rhythm, whereas many are too far removed from their natural balance. Hence why the music today sounds the way it does, its not made by the melanted peoples

total out of content, but dindt know where to post, and wanted to honour: what so ever, you are very charsimatic, when you talk about what you love, and when i listen to some of your records, and i feel you are totally into yourself: 1. "drunk in love" great work Timbaland... never thought someone could produce a great piece of love song for beyonce, cause she isnt that love song soul, and hasnt weither the voice for this ballad stuff... but in this song, only good ears notice, that she isnt really feeling the song, she is really bad in this...though you happen to make it fit and nail it!!..awesome production Mr timberland.. I guess some of the hardest one! I mean not even in the video you see her act as if she feels the song... but you nailed it! Only good ears will hear that incongruency! 2. great recruting fail, "Shakira - Give It Up To Me" great peace of Production Mr Timbaland, though it totally doesnt fit shakira, that latina is so out of that groove content you offer haha..anyway great inspiration... way better as the modern stuff! 3. the stuff you do since then there is no eg.: "Ginuwine - Get Involved" there are no transient left anymore, its so damn ear hurting flat...And timberland to me sounds, yo man theres a hotcrispy inspirational beat going on i never heard.. Love you, you are the greatest producer since 2000 just to mention your the Nelly furtado productions.. but what happened? 4. Jay Z is so introverted, wonder how you were able to find the same speech...though awesome work... cant ever imagine how you are communicating .. haha .. "drunk in love is Your absolute master piecea, though you didnt do it on your own...maybe thats why its so good, because you were networking....awesome!! An artist has great inspiration..but not always...but if he wants to live from his inspiration, the pitty is, he has to be inspirational..and that puts him back...networking is the thing to go foreward as an artist! Do more of that beyonce networking stuff please! Wanna learn from you so bad man!

Thanks for creating this!! I have a suggestion for future videos. When they are referencing songs, beats, etc; what would it take to put a sample of that track in there?

This asshat deserves no respect, this was his response to the artist he stole an entire track from. "It makes me laugh. The part I don't understand, the dude is trying to act like I went to his house and took it from his computer. I don't know him from a can of paint. I'm 15 years deep. That's how you attack a king? You attack moi? Come on, man. You got to come correct. You the laughing stock. People are like, 'You can't be serious." Fuck him.

This guy knows how to create quality sound beats. He has the talent to take any music artist in the world, create music sound beat, take a written song, apply the sound beat to their voice, and create great music. From high school to college, I rocked Timbaland’s! music!!!🎶 🎼 🎵

The video was amazing. Timbaland really was at one with himself and talked about a lot of things in goin through too. So I appreciate this video a lot. Hopefully anyone lookin into makin music or whatever it is you want to do don’t let your demons stop you. Together we can do anything and that’s something that hit me. Creating a masterpiece. *these 25 minutes, recharged my energy. i'm a self made music producer, made 3 songs, got down because of very low exposure, but now i know, music is for your own self, if you are satisfied for yourself, it does not matter how others see it.*

Yikes! This interview is awkward: it's apparent that this interviewer has no idea about Timbaland or his background and only his later pop commercial collaborations w/ Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Jay-Z 😬 Please whomever is in charge of curating this interview: choose a more qualified candidate to interview talent next time.

Would love for him to make another album with Missy. Timbo was ahead of his time and his beats are amazingly intricate compared to the trap sound of today
Hopefully they will release the new Aaliyah in this lifetime.

Thank you Timbaland! I'm dealing with my own substance abuse issues and wondering can I get my shit together before it's to late. When you talked about what T.I. said and how that simple but powerful observation of how God deals with us helped you I needed to hear that.

Many people know most of the hits were made by DanjaHandz, Storch and other ghost producers. Timbaland is mostly ,,just,, trademark like Mike Will Made It for example. We should pay tribute do Danja instead, not Timbo

I know exactly what hes talking about when he said god just said "no more" during his addiction. Being an ex heroin addict of 4 years it happened to me. One day god hit me with a feeling and i was like enough is enough and i got some suboxone and detoxed myself and never looked back, that was 5 years ago. Everyone alway says heroin is one of the hardest drug to come off of and it is but, from my experience quitting is the easy battle, staying off of it is the war. If you can stay strong and make it thru the first year, the hard part is over. You will come out the other side noticeably stronger and confident that there aint no obstacle you cant get over and the stresses of life and the thoughts of "how am i gonna get thru this" decline drastically. One good thing that came out of my addiction is that i am stronger and my confidence is higher. I no longer worry about things because "I KNOW" ill be victorious in battle.
