1:30 The first digital marketing tool that you guys should use is Google Analytics. It tracks your visitor count if you have a lot of traffic. They'll sample the data unless you pay like a hundred or a hundred and fifty grand or whatever their price is per year. Google Analytics will show you how people are engaging throughout your site and what traffic sources are causing most conversions. Don't optimize for traffic. Optimize for traffic that causes conversions.
3:00 The second digital marketing tool I have for you is Ubersuggest. You're going to want to get rankings. You're going to want more search traffic. It's the most consistent traffic that you'll get. Yes. Social media traffic is easier and quicker to get. But Google's algorithm updates aren't as crazy as Facebook's. It won't be where one day you're getting 300,000 visitors from Facebook organic reach and the next day you're getting 10,000 visitors. Google's organic traffic is very, very consistent. So use Ubersuggest.
3:40 The third digital marketing tool I have for you is Google Search Console. We love doing this internally, where we take Google search console, we log in; we look at all the posts, how many impressions they get, how many clicks they get and the click-through rate. We look for the posts that get less than a five percent click-through rate. We look at all the keywords that were getting impressions from that post, and then we integrate those keywords into that blog post or that landing page, and we rewrite that content.
7:30 The fourth digital marketing tool is Crazyegg. Crazyegg shows me how people are engaging with my website. How far they're scrolling. Where they're clicking. It allows me to take that data and, within Crazyegg, you don't have to be a developer, you don't have to be a designer. You can adjust your page and run A/B tests to maximize your sales. Because it's not just about getting traffic, it's about converting those visitors into conversions. Another tool that I love using is called Subscribers. It's through push notifications. People will come through to your website, but they don't come back.
8:00 The fifth digital marketing tool is called Subscribers. It's through push notifications. People will come through to your website, but they don't come back. What it does is it puts a little browser notification when people come to your site and gets them to subscribe without being obtrusive, it does it all within the browser.
9:00 The last digital marketing tool that I'm going to give you guys that you guys should check out is HubSpot. HubSpot's a great tool to look at your overall marketing, your lead count. It integrates marketing with sales, and that's why I want to end with HubSpot. I love it. I use it, and sure some people may say "Hey, there are other tools that do this or that." HubSpot has a lot of free plans, and they have some startup plans, which is very entrepreneur friendly, and best of all is they keep adding more and more stuff for free, so why not? They're a huge billion dollar company that are trying to crush their competitors, so they're just releasing a lot of stuff for free. Hey, that's for your benefit.
10:00 All this data and these digital marketing tools, with no action, is useless. You're better off saving the money and not even paying or using any of them. So that's it. Thank you for watching this week's Q&A Thursday video. If you want your questions answered, leave a comment below. Let us know you want it answered on a Q&A Thursday video. Maybe we'll select it. Either way, if you leave a comment below, I'll answer it no matter what. Please, like, share, review, whatever it is. This video, The more people that know about it, the more people I can help, the happier I'm going to be. As you can see, I don't promote my services or anything from my content. I'm just looking to help people. So I would appreciate it if you can share the content.
Neil, went online to see what your business KISS... was. As I read thru it, I came across this...can you explain it to me if you have time. Not sure what the words un ALL CAPS mean. Thanks"Target the right CUSTOMER SEGMENTS, with beautiful, PRECISE EMAILS for ONE-OFF and ONGOING CAMPAIGNS." Perhaps I'm missing the whole picture and that's why I don't understand part of the above. If I need to go back to the beginning to even understand what you're doing, please be blunt and say so. I trust your advice. Thank you.p.s. I have never been into a blog. Is that why I'm not getting this? Know very little about blogging and how it could possibly generate so much money.
Customer segments means specific groups of targeted customers, not all customers. Precise emails for one-off campaigns mean the emails you would do for a one-off promotion or deal whereas ongoing campaigns would be for continuous emails that you send out to your base.
Hi, I've jumped ahead watching ur vids, so not sure when Adam joined u. When u introduce him, u say his name SO fast, I'm missing what ur saying. Are you saying his whole name or are u saying Adam......???.... along with a company name as well? I've watched 2 vids so far this morning and it's happened in both. Perhaps, it would be good for him to introduce himself and see if that helps (well at least help me). I realize I'm not into 'computer speed fast talking'. I think it's important to give people a chance to ' hear everything', not just 'pick & choose the primary words' needed to grasp what ur telling us... Similar to speed reading people, but instead listening verbally. I hope I've explained this correctly. I'm watching ur vids (also tell friends about them & u) so I can prepare to start my online business/career. I don't jump in doing anything new without knowing the basics or as much info as possible to succeed quickly... I'm not young. I don't have years to wait. I'm retired, live with 24/7 pain, but I'm trying to change my life to what it once was... but 100% better. I've got goals and a timeline set for one area of interest I've settled on now. My biggest challenge in life is having too many interests I love and am good at. Don't ask me to pick one, I've tried many times, can't do it. I've got to get all these ideas going, or I'll feel like I've failed. Even if I don't fail, by only doing one of them, I've still failed by being complacent too long. Keep up the great work!! Now if I could just get my daughter and 19 yr old grandson to listen to u, instead of sitting idle or settling for low wages (daughter makes more). They are both smart but won't let me make suggestions. If I were a stranger or friend suggesting the exact same thing, they would listen. What is that about???!!! Non the less, THANK YOU for teaching ME and pointing me in the right direction to make whatever I choose a success....I listen. L :)
This video came up in my recommendations and the timing was great but a bit scary. So I was watching another video (a song from another channel) but while listening to it I was thinking to myself that I should ask reddit about tools to use for my website to monitor traffic and SEO. This video was in the recommendations from an unrelated video. Is Google reading my mind? Very informative video btw.
Hi Neil, I run an e-commerce store that sells political-themed clothing and accessories but I’m not sure how I can really integrate content marketing into that. Writing about politics probably isn’t something I would rank for since their are so many other political sources out there and I don’t even know if it would help drive ecom conversions at the end of the day. What should I do?
You can definitely still do content marketing for this by focusing on political content for your niche. Don't write about politics in general because that won't drive you the visitors you want but try getting creative and understand which keywords people are searching when looking for political clothing.
Hey man. Second comment on your video. I have a retail business that focused on kids fashion. At the moment, I don't have any money to require a website. In the meantime, I still focusing with my social media, fb and IG. Please do suggest me on any tools that works for increasing traffic to Instagram and Facebook. Really appreaciated if you can answer. Thanks man

My question is - how much technical knowledge should a seo have and if yes then what is that ,
Looking for to hear from you
Hi Neil, thank you for posting such amazing content.
I was wondering if it is effective to my site's SEO to write blog entries based on all the research I do from watching videos and reading articles by experts such of yourself (with stated references of course). Or would that only help the SEO of the expert's sites that I am siting?
Thanks in advance.
how much is it effective to
1) Post your blog link in youtube videos which are related to the topic.
2) Write a post on Reddit in the concern subreddit
3) Paid Guest posting.
4) Boost it on social media.
Hi, can you make a road-map for someone who is a beginner at Digital Marketing? Your podcast is mostly for people with a lot of experience or already existing knowledge. It is sometimes too much for us to recollect and implement. I would greatly appreciate if you could list down the courses, podcasts, and blogs we should read for specific aspects of online marketing. Thanks Neil, I really appreciate the effort you put into provide quality content!
Kushi, I agree also. Great idea. We are not all experienced with the entire world of online...anything. I've just started learning earlier this year, even though I've had access for years while working. Wasn't til I retired, having to live in much less that made me want to do something to help have a better life. Got into YT just to watch a movie, then started seeing motivational things and find Neil during the summer, he's great! I just have to decipher and learn by researching all he's talking about. It takes time, but with it. Unfortunately, my grandson won't stop away from his computer friends long enough to teach me how to get started. That's why I like listen to Neil and like Gillian Perkins, too. Thanks again for the suggestion for us newbies. L :)
love the webinars you do neil. I always go back to you when som eof my clients do not believe about digital marketing stuff. And then I quote you and show the things that need to be done and they are like "when can you start?"...thank you for your help...
You have essentially started a race against your competition by starting a business. You need to get to the finish line (growth, sales, profit, etc). How are you going to finish a race? By driving fast and maneuvering strategically. If your competition is driving a Porsche, are you going to compete by riding a bicycle?
Agreed. I typically will utilize Facebooks scheduler and manage all my content scheduled in the platform as necessary per themes. However Instagram I struggle with because of the scheduling on different accounts. I am trying to manage my time better which helps a lot as well. I like to focus on all reviews, and comments daily and sometimes right when they are posted.
I have used Hootsuite and Buffer and both work well. I have also 'grinded it out' and found that to be the best (for me) because it gives more control. However, you need to be good at managing your time and organization to do this effectively.
Thanks Niel, I really love your videos.
One question though, I have a full time job which leaves me less time to work on my affiliate marketing or own business.
What simple tools you suggest which will give me the same results as if I was working on them full time.
Hey man. Great stuff, as always. It hasn't been long since I found you and discovered you're the one.
Question: what are your thoughts about companies like TrustPilot? They have some paid options and some free ones as well. Is it worth it?
I am selling high value products through my website. It's not e-commerce website...
My question is: should I show price of my products on my website or i shouldd let customer fill form for price inquiries?
Shakir... Totally agree with Neil. Me personally, I want to see a price. If none there, I would think immediately: The price is out of my price range and wouldn't waste my time inquiring...UNLESS, I absolutely loved your specific product or item.. Maybe then I would inquire, but doubtful. I'd have to love it ALOT. Hope u don't mind me adding my 2 cents worth of thought. Best of luck to you! Blessings, L :)
Hi Neil, very very interesting videos as always, thank you very much. My question is, I an not an expert or have a Diploma in Digital marketing, but I am Passionate, very interested and want to earn passive income my having my own Website & YouTube channel, on YouTube giving tips about how to maximise your earning as a driver of UBER, I am a Uber driver. And my Website I want to sell small products like Drop shipping. My question is, "is it worth it by not having a Diploma on Digital marketing or Ecommerce, but have passion and very interested in Digital marketing. I know basic and brought a UDEMY COURSES of" COMPLETE Digital Marketing and Web Developer, both courses I brought fromm the online platform called UDEMY... Sorry about long question, please please answer my question, will appreciate it, thank you very much...😊😀
Hey Neil, a new fan but I had a simple question: I sell table pads online. One surgery table could have 3 different types of foam with 3 different thicknesses. For SEO purposes do you recommend me having one product page with 6 different options or break it out into 9 different product pages 1 per configuration?
YOu mentioned email marketing rates of open are dropping and sso you said push notifications and "a few other things" can you talk about that in a video? What to use to support our email list building marketing efforts for small biz or solopreneurs.
Hey Neil, when you quoted the example of wikipedia which is having one big page for each topic, did you mean to say that rather than having a 10 small blogs on one subject it's better to update one small blog post and keep on updating it to make it big ?
I am so jealous of Adam ,
He is already doing the things that I always wanna do at least once in my life ,
I too have a wish to take this my best fellow Neil's interview ,
I don't know when it gets fulfilled ...
Neil, I know it won't be fulfilled untill I grow up my level to the Adam's level ,
But it can, too some extent :
if you allwoed me to take text QnA interview of you on the marketing niche ...
Both of you , lot's of love ...
Neil Patel thank you for your prompt answer and for making a video about this subject. However, I was thinking more along the lines of Kissmetrics which you got back and the many startups you hold stock in. I understand about others but those? Anyway, my question is more along the lines of why not those? Would promoting those detract from your message, brand, etc? Or is there another reason? Just looking below the surface to understand things better on reasons to do or not do something
One thing i want to know that. Creating backlinks from high authority domain blog from comments or guest post. Will it be helpful or google penalized for it in 2018?
By that way grt content. Keep sharing it👍👍
EXCELLENT video, Neil! 😄 I really appreciate your channel and all the knowledge you share. I'm learning a lot from you! I'm applying what you say to my blog and e-commerce site. I'm just starting my Shopify store and I have had my blog for 1 year & 2 months -- I started with zero knowledge and am teaching myself everything along the way. So your content is very valuable. Thank you for what you are doing here. I hate regular jobs and I'm working on building my own thing so that I can work from anywhere in the world on my laptop and my phone. I see all the opportunity to do it with consistent hard work. I don't have to waste my entire life doing shit I hate and that's a relief.
Side note: Do you connect with people on LinkedIn? Because I sent you a 'Connect' request with a note identifying the 'why' for the connection approx two months ago. I know I'm a stranger and you get a lot of requests, so you probably didn't see it.
Anyway, have a great day ✌🙏

The problem is not that Facebook and Google are the only advertising platforms. The problem is that they are considered mainstream media and without these two, the trend of cryptocurrencies gaining legitimacy is delayed. That is right, I said delayed not blocked or prevented.
The World Has Changed.
Five years ago, when bitcoin was unknown to most people, this might have been a fatal move. Today is a different story. I recently traveled to a remote mountain town in the interior of Mexico. Everyone I met had heard about Bitcoin and eyes lit up with excitement when I ask if I could pay for lunch with bitcoin.
Today are dozens of websites dedicated to cryptocurrencies, either holding them, exchanging them or just writing about them. Probably the most effective advertising remains on Google, it is called Google Search and it is free.
If someone wants to learn about owning bitcoin or any other currency, there is a ton of educational information.
The Flipside Is Being Ignored.
Not All Regulation Is Inherently Bad.
If we examine the full spectrum of regulation to this point on a global scale there is one common target most everywhere. That is the practice of exchanges. So far there has been little or not regulation, threatened or enacted, to protect investors from loss of funds due to security breaches.
Capitulation Is A Good Sign.
