Coming September 2017. http://bit.ly/2vzvRQa The Finest FireLine® Ever! The scientists at Berkley® have applied the famous FireLine® process to thermally fuse a remarkably strong 8-carrier Dyneema® PE fiber braid. The fused 8-carriers create a line that is tougher, rounder and smoother, delivering longer casts than ever before.

OK my opinion on this line not worth it fished with it 1 day 6 mph So many wind knots i put the line on perfectly But it just kept blowing up (I am NOT TRYING to bash Berkeley) I love Berkeley I love the trilene line 100% fluorocarbon

always slipping at the knots with the 14 lb line, even using the berkley braid knot. Solution ?
Devon Plant (2 months ago)
Yeah I used the Palomar knot. Still breaks off. It's all good Berkley. I went to sufix 832 and it's a thousand times better. I'm back to bending hooks instead of losing lures on a hookset.

Thank you for the feedback! We recommend using a palomar knot with FireLine® Ultra 8. Be sure to tie a clean knot and try cutting the tag end just a little bit longer than normal. That will give you a little insurance should the knot slip when it really tightens up on itself.

Dog4life I agree. I've never experienced anything like it with braid before. My plans are to steer clear of the Fireline for sure.

i've tried differente strenght / pull tests... the only line that slips at the knot is Fireline... all other braided lines i use snap normally under pressure and knot holds up normally ( even with more simple knots ) . Kinda sucks, because overall i like this Berkley Fireline, castability is great , no windknots and fairly priced.

Dog4life same here. Worked great for a couple months. Came here to see if anyone else is having this issue

How would this work on a finesse bait caster? It says for spinning reels.

Steve Pennaz does say it is LESS LIMP than traditional braids, so it performs extremely well on spinning gear, but I do not see anything that says it is EXCLUSIVELY for spinning. But, with the statement about being good for spinning, I would be very cautious if you put it on a baitcaster.
