Hi Steve, Do you know why they are asking for "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit"? I just got a very poor answer from them: https://twitter.com/giofonsecaf/status/788332458517364736 Recently I found this alternative, not all the features they have are for free, but they asked for reasonable permissions from my perspective, do you know them? They are here: screencastify.com Thanks in advance for your answer and thanks in general for your great content! Helps a lot!

Hi Steve, thanks for replaying!!! Yesterday I was playing a bit with screencastify, and at the beginning they didn't ask for reading and change data on my websites. It seems is not necessary for recording the desktop, but when I tried to record a tab on Chrome, they did ask me to give that permission, so I can imagine that is more an internal requirement from Google Chrome than other thing. Thanks again!!!
dottotech (1 year ago)
AS far as the TOS. I suspect they need permission to record your screen when in record mode. that seems reasonable. As to change data I do not understand that,
Angela Schans (1 year ago)
Frustrated. I can't get the camera to work. Download, gave permission twice...still no luck. I reached out to the team...maybe they can help...I'm using a MacBook Air.

dottotech (1 year ago)
I have not had any issues with the cam. Do you have any other apps open that might be taking the resource, like Skype, of Facebook Messenger?
Angela Schans (1 year ago)
I'm SO excited!!!! Today is my birthday! And this may be my favorite gift to myself yet! Thank you Steve!
Angela Schans (1 year ago)
Thank you! The app worked flawlessly as soon as I turned my computer off and back on again! Hooray! I immediately used the app to help a friend with her computer problem! It was wonderful!

Thanks for the tip, Steve. Looking forward to checking out ViewedIt. BTW in the title of the video you referenced it as ViewEdit…it looks like the correct capitalization is ViewedIt.

dottotech Looked for mobile App but couldn't find. Does this also work on the Chrome on a mobile I-Phone..? Could be an even better and easier way to share for the mobile friendly community thanks.

Hey Steve, I just downloaded and tried it. It's cute, and will definitely come in handy when I need to help a client and don't need a full Camtasia video. Thanks for sharing. They don't have a way to choose the microphone and speakers I wanted, so I did it through Windows. Good to see I had the option of turning of the camera.

I am going to be doing a tutorial series on social media in bite size pieces. Does these videos ever expire/get automatically deleted after a certain period of time?
dottotech (1 year ago)
Not really the way to record demos for tutorials, You want to use something like Screenflow on the mac or Camtasia to record those demos, then host them on YouTube or Vimeo.

Will you be doing a Christmas video?
dottotech (1 year ago)
Maybe, I am thinking about it

Wow! Thanks a lot Steve! Before I was using Camtasia screen recording to show web design process to my clients, but this is 10x easier and faster. No more compressing, uploading, marking video as unlisted. Big time saver. Thanks!

Does the recipient have to "join" videoedit or do they just get to view it in email, etc.?

|• Hi Steve, great video & informative; my only concern is privacy. If speaking & capturing proprietary information and or any other personal content, I would be hesitant to place end video on a third parties server. It would be more prudent to utilize a screen capture service that has agreement(s) with Google™ or iOS to which strict policies are enforced. Subsequently, saving end product/video to either Google Drive™, OneDrive or iCloud™. Free is great, however not at the expense of Privacy & Security. I for one, would have to further investigate the service and their investment into Security before committing to them. I suspect given the cost of security infrastructure these days, I could almost bet it's not of a proper standard. Thus, why many resort to teaming up with Google™ Cloud Services, Msft OneDrive Services etc.. Example...Evernote, Trackview Pro and the likes...they have all finally admitted data security is best handled by those who have invested in the infrastructure.
