0:10 Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today I'm going to share with you the best alternative to Google Ads. What most people don't realize is, you don't have to spend money on Google Ads to create a multibillion-dollar company. Have you heard of Dropbox? Of course, you have; the chances are it's on your computer. Did you know that when Dropbox first came out they tried to grow by doing Google advertising? And what they found is, even though they had a product that costs around $5 a month, which is around $60 a year per customer, they were spending roughly $200 to $300 to acquire a customer from Google Ads.
1:30 Can you see how those numbers don't work out? Not only are they spending more to acquire a customer than what they're paying in the first year, just because someone's paying you $5 a month, but it also doesn't mean that $5 is pure profit either. So, what did Dropbox do? They leveraged growth hacking. They figured out a way to get users to come to their site and generate more customers. They did this by creating a free product or a service, and that's a better alternative to Google Ads.
2:30 If you look at Dropbox, you look at Slack, heck even look at Amazon; Amazon's not really doing free but with a Prime membership, you get free two-day air shipping. By creating something that's free or such an amazing offer, think of it as like your carrot that you're dangling, you're going to get so many people over to your website that then when you upsell them into your paid products or services, it's so much easier because they're already using your product or service, you've already built that brand loyalty, that connection, that rapport with them. It's much easier to get that upsell.
3:00 You do not have to spend money on Google Ads to create a big business; again, look at Dropbox. Leverage growth hacking, and then as you have these free tools, these free products, these free services, and it may not be the best ones out there but something that people are used to paying for, what you can do is do things like creating invite flows. Dropbox has it: you want more free space, invite more users. I can do the same thing with Ubersuggest; I don't, but I can say "Want more free usage? Invite more members." You can get creative with your marketing, leverage growth hacking.
3:30 Just don't put all your money into Google Ads, and the reason I say that, it's not because I don't like Google Ads. Ideally, you should be doing both. But the reason I say this is, the moment you stop Google Ads you don't have any more traffic. By creating something that's free, and it doesn't have to continually cost a ton of money, like HubSpot, they have this free email signature generator. It doesn't cost them much money; they only spent a few thousand dollars creating it.
4:00 They don't even spend any money maintaining it each and every single month. But they found that it can drive over seven figures worth of revenue to their business per year; not too bad from one free tool. So if you have questions on what you should be releasing for free, leave a comment below; I'll answer it. I'll give you some ideas and hopefully, that'll get you off to the races. Thank you for watching; feel free to like, subscribe, comment, and share. Thank you very much.
Giving things away for free won't necessarily help "growth hack" your business. Instead, try partnering and collaborating with other companies in your niche. If you're a tour operator, for example, partner with hostels, hotels, and restaurants to offer special deals and packages.
It really depends on your goals and the activities you are doing with marketing. There are many free tools out there that have different functionalities so it really depends on what you are looking to do :)
Does anyone have examples for a presell page from facebook ads traffic? John Crestani and others claim that they don't even collect the email adress on their landing page, just straight to the offer after translating the visitor from browsing mode into buyers mode. Any real examples?
I adore ubersuggest, the main issue I’m facing when using it , is that there is no enough results for Arabic search terms, only few results. I really appreciate if we can one day find this tool bring us more information .
Thanks very much, Neil. This is "Content Marketing" at its best. ... Some of the skeptics in the comments do not realize that when we give away something free, high-quality, and useful, then other people are happy to thank us, by spreading the word about it. ... I am looking forward to trying "Ubersuggest".
I am jus t about to start advertising my website online, but we are specialist awning company. we manufacture bespoke motorised awnings. i would like to start adds in the south of England to start with. can you make any suggestions?

on my website I advertise my service which is photovoltaic installation. What would you recommend to attract more traffic? What type of free service could have in mind in situation like that? Currently I'm ranked very far away in my country. Best regards, Bartosz
I have tried many free things in the past like giving away all my ebooks and it did not help. Would giving away a free email consultation be better? I am a Medic site in the health niche and got clobbered with the August Algo and my home page is in the sandbox. The other pages are ranking ok.
Neil, Am I missing something? You have to drive people to the free offer somehow right? That targeted traffic is very hard to come by unless... Oh wait, that's what Google Ads search campaigns are for.
Neil - great short top vid!. In the old marketing days that was usually called a loss leader. I am starting in non-spam affiliate marketing and ask for your great insights. I do have a lot of sales/marketing experience (over 30 years) but deeply desirous of helping my family better secure our financial future. Thank you.. - SteveD

Great video, Neil. I have a supplement review website that reviews a wide range of products (fat burners, nootropics, etc.) I already give away free ebooks for each category, but what would you suggest for me?
Hi Neil. Great content and its definitely gonna help many. would you pls let me know what do I give as free to my clients. I'm into freelancing in Graphic Designing and web designing. Thanks much Neil.
Hey Neil, can content locking be considered as part of growth hacking? Like, once readers share our post, they are able to read further. It increases social signals and traffic too. Is it ethical? Speaking about me, I sometimes exit from the post when asked to share it.
Neil I am starting to learn SEO and aim to become a Professional SEO expert and consultant in the near future. Do you think SEO still have chance in the next 5-8 years. I mean do you think companies will still be paying for SEO services in future?

Hi Neil, great idea! Could you please give me ideas on how to free my products to customers if I have marketplace? (my products are photography, so photographers list their services to my marketplace and I market it to Asian market). Also how to invite more photographers to list their services. Many thanks :)
Hi Neil, have a quick question for you. If you offer product packages on your site, and several packages have the same product in it, is it bad for SEO to use the same blurb for that specific product on each of the product package pages?
Thank you for the video. I am a Real Estate investor. I buy houses from motivated sellers. What could I give away to buy more houses? Also if I am spending marketing $$ on give away's how do I attract the sellers? Thank you again
Hey Neil thanks for being the most authentic real world advice marketer on the internet, I am a Magician Entertainer. I am booked as event entertainment for private parties, weddings, and corporate events. Does the thing you give away have to closely relate to your product or does it just have to appeal to demographic that buys your product? Can you think of anything that would be a enticing giveaway as a magician?
I have a carpet cleaning business in central Florida.. I am spending about $5,000 per month on Google . What do you suggest I do to offer one of my services free?. Where do I and how do i market the special deal if I am not using Google? Please help if you can.
create free blog, and select in option of only my blog show " USA " so your products advertisement will only appear to USA peoples. This way you can save you money.
and this is your permanent solution. and always your personal, with a time you can add remove products description.
Or you can buy a cheap domain which will cost per year some dollars. same advertisement you can do there.
Hi Neil Great video as always. I run an affiliate website which promotes female related products and services such as fashion, beauty, makeup, haircare, salons etc. I am trying to figure out what I can offer my customers for free that would attract them to my website. I was thinking beauty tutorials etc but they are available for free online. Thanks for your help
Love this idea Neil, I am in the process of launching an online literary magazine and was going to charge for prescriptions now I am thinking of just giving it away for free but I have no idea what I would offer for people to buy once they visit.
Neil...I love everything that you do (on-lone, that is); question: I'm a licensed/bonded/insured used car dealer. My USP, I'm an auto-buyer's agent. I take my client's auto specifications (make/model/year/color etc) and go to dealer-only auctions, engage in the competitive bidding process to acquire said auto at the retail dealer's whole sale price, at times saving my buyer a few thousand $$. I charge a flat fee for services rendered, and the transaction is totally transparent to my client.
How do I create a "freebie" w/ this business model?
Well Robert, IMO the freebie is built into your business model. It's a free car search, and unless you find them exactly what they are looking for at a price they are satisfied with, your customers don't pay a dime :-)
Gracias Neil por esa información..que das a los usuarios
Una pregunta como puedo tener visitas en un blog de moda

The problem is not that Facebook and Google are the only advertising platforms. The problem is that they are considered mainstream media and without these two, the trend of cryptocurrencies gaining legitimacy is delayed. That is right, I said delayed not blocked or prevented.
The World Has Changed.
Five years ago, when bitcoin was unknown to most people, this might have been a fatal move. Today is a different story. I recently traveled to a remote mountain town in the interior of Mexico. Everyone I met had heard about Bitcoin and eyes lit up with excitement when I ask if I could pay for lunch with bitcoin.
Today are dozens of websites dedicated to cryptocurrencies, either holding them, exchanging them or just writing about them. Probably the most effective advertising remains on Google, it is called Google Search and it is free.
If someone wants to learn about owning bitcoin or any other currency, there is a ton of educational information.

Not All Regulation Is Inherently Bad.
If we examine the full spectrum of regulation to this point on a global scale there is one common target most everywhere. That is the practice of exchanges. So far there has been little or not regulation, threatened or enacted, to protect investors from loss of funds due to security breaches.
Capitulation Is A Good Sign.
