ICT CS urges firms to increase investment in cyber security

Companies that use online systems need to boost the level of spending on cyber security relative to total expenditure if they are to stay safe from cyber attacks. ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has revealed that many companies spend minimal amounts on cyber security systems despite the escalation of the threat in recent decades. Mucheru says the Computer and Cyber Crimes Bill which has been approved by the Cabinet, and which needs to go through Parliament, will have punitive measures for hackers. He was speaking in Nairobi this morning during the opening of the Citi ICT Cyber Security conference.

By operating carbon neutral, Microsoft has changed the way it operates. The company reduced energy and emissions, bought clean energy to cover what it could not reduce and invested in offset projects for the carbon Microsoft cannot reduce or replace. These efforts are funded by Microsoft internal carbon fee, which charges all Microsoft’s business groups for their carbon footprint.
