Option Delta Explained - Option Greeks | Part 2 (Hindi)

18:23
Option delta is the rate of change in the option premium w.r.t. change in the price or value of the underlying asset i.e. share price or index. For example, if the option delta of a stock is 0.2 then with every Rs 10 movement of the share, you will gain or lose Rs 2 per share. You can estimate your profit or loss with the help of option delta if you know the expected share price movement. Delta of a call is +ve and put is -ve. The option delta of ITM or In the money contracts are high. Whereas it is low for out of the money contracts. For at the money contracts, the delta is 0.5. Option delta also depends on the time till expiry i.e. for out of the money contracts will have near zero delta near expiry. With the increase in the volatility of the underlying asset, the delta decrease or vice versa. In the case of 0.5 delta there is an equal probability of at the money contract to move in the money or out of the money. If the delta is 0 or 1, the probability of hitting that particular strike price is almost impossible. For hedging, you need to check the option delta. It is wrong to assume that if the lot size is 100 and i bought same no of shares in cash then by buying one lot, i have fully hedged my position. You need to check net gain or loss based on delta to hedge a position. Learn About Options Greeks: What is Delta?

04:03
Options involve risk and are not suitable for all investors. Please read Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options at http://www.tradeking.com/ODD . VIDEO SUMMARY: In this series, TradeKing's Brian Overby explains the "Greeks" most popular among options traders. This video discusses delta, the Greek that measures (theoretically) how changes in the underlying stock price are likely to impact the option's price. TO EMBED THIS VIDEO IN YOUR SITE: Go to http://bit.ly/jaFsRk and click on the "up" arrow in the bottom right corner of the video player. This will reveal a permanent link and embed code for your use. PLEASE READ THESE DISCLAIMERS: The Greeks represent the consensus of the marketplace as to how the option will react to changes in certain variables associated with the pricing of an option contract. While Delta represents the consensus of the marketplace as to the theoretical price movement of the option relative to the underlying security there is no guarantee that either of these forecasts will be correct. Online trading has inherent risks due to system response and access times that vary due to market conditions, system performance and other factors. An investor should understand these and additional risks before trading.

Get one projectoption course for FREE when you open and fund your first tastyworks brokerage account: https://www.projectoption.com/free-options-trading-course/ Learn More About tastyworks: https://www.projectoption.com/tastyworks/ ============ Implied volatility is one of the most important concepts to understand as an options trader. Implied volatility represents the option prices on a particular stock, which is an indication of the future stock price movements that the market is expecting. Stocks with more expensive option prices have higher implied volatility, indicating larger expected price changes in the future. On the other hand, stocks with cheaper option prices have lower implied volatility, indicating smaller expected price changes in the future. Additionally, implied volatility can be used to calculate the one standard deviation expected stock price ranges over any time frame. ==== Resources ==== Our Options Trading Courses: https://www.projectoption.com/options-trading-courses/ ==== Favorite Options Trading Books ==== Option Volatility and Pricing: https://amzn.to/2SU6f8K How to Price & Trade Options: https://amzn.to/2FqsPmn

What Is Options Delta? The Options Greeks

10:18
Buy The Book Here: https://amzn.to/2CLG5y2 Follow Patrick on Twitter Here: https://twitter.com/PatrickEBoyle What is Options Delta? The first Greek we will learn about in this video series is Delta, which measures how much an option's price will change for a 1% change in the price of the underlying security or index. For example, a Delta of 0.40 means that the option's price will theoretically move $0.40 for every $1 move in the price of the underlying stock or index. Call options Have a positive Delta that can range from zero to 1.00. At-the-money options usually have a Delta near .50. The Delta will increase (and approach 1.00) as the option gets deeper in the money. The Delta of in-the-money call options will get closer to 1.00 as expiration approaches. The Delta of out-of-the-money call options will get closer to zero as expiration approaches. Put option Delta Put options have a negative Delta that can range from zero to -1.00. At-the-money options usually have a Delta near -.50. The Delta will decrease (and approach -1.00) as the option gets deeper in the money. The Delta of in-the-money put options will get closer to -1.00 as expiration approaches. The Delta of out-of-the-money put options will get closer to zero as expiration approaches. You also might think of Delta, as the percent chance (or probability) that a given option will expire in the money. For example, a Delta of 0.40 means the option has about a 40% chance of being in the money at expiration. This doesn’t mean your trade will be profitable. That of course, depends on the price at which you bought or sold the option. You also might think of Delta, as the number of shares of the underlying stock, the option behaves like. A Delta of 0.40 also means that given a $1 move in the underlying stock, the option will likely gain or lose about the same amount of money as 40 shares of the stock. Tune in tomorrow for a video on Delta Hedging.

Understanding Option Greeks (How to make MILLIONS with Options)

09:48
🔴 *VIP Membership Group* 🔴 View my portfolio & every single trade I make! Join now ► http://bit.ly/2Gk9JfW Understanding Option Greeks is critical to trading options successfully! If you understand option greeks, then trading option contracts will become very profitable for you. There are a few different greeks to understand, but today I'll go over the most important ones I use. The greeks I'll go over today are Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega, Rho. Watch THE WHOLE VIDEO to see a bonus segment at the end where I go over a REAL WORLD OPTION CONTRACT (FACEBOOK)! However, before we get into that, let's start with implied volatility - which isn't a greek, but is very important. The higher the IV, the more expensive option contracts get. The lower the IV, the cheaper they are. You will hear terms like "IV crush" being used a lot - and all this means is the IV of the contract got "crushed" or dropped drastically. This usually happens after earnings for example as you run up to earnings, typically the IV increases, and it usually the highest the day before earnings. Once earnings are out, there's usually no other catalyst right after, and thus the IV drops and the value of the contracts drop the next day. Greek #1: Delta: Tells you how much an option's price is expected to change per $1 change in the underlying stock. Ex: Delta of 0.50 means that the option's price will move $0.50 for every $1 move in the underlying stock. Remember, a $0.50 move per contract is actually a 0.5*100 = $50 move in the contract. Call options have a delta from 0 to 1, and put options go from 0 to -1. For calls, you want a delta closer to 1 and for puts, you want a delta closer to -1. The deeper ITM you are, the higher the delta (up to a max of 1). Greek #2: Gamma: Measures the rate of change in an option's Delta per $1 change in the underlying stock. Ex: if delta is 0.5, and the underlying moves $1, the new delta isn't 1 anymore. This new delta is calculated by the gamma - which could be for example 0.1. So then the new delta for this contract would be 0.5+0.1 = 0.6. Greek #3: Theta: This measures how much value the contract loses over time. The lower the theta, the better the contract is. For example, if a contract has a Theta of 0.03, that means it loses $0.03 from it's value every day as you approach expiry. As you get closer to expiry, Theta gets higher. Greek #4: Vega: Measures how the implied volatility of a stock affects the price of the options on that stock. As Vega decreases, calls and puts lose value and as Vega increases, calls and puts gain value. Greek #5: Rho: Measures how sensitive a contract is to interest rates. As interest rates increase, the value of call options will generally increase as call options have positive Rho. As interest rates increase, the value of put options will usually decrease because put options have negative Rho. This can be very confusing, especially for beginners and although I look at all of these, the 3 most important ones that I use are IV, Delta, and Theta. I look for low IV, high delta, and low theta - a good combination of this is a good value contract that I typically trade. We'll start by discussing the two options types: 1) Call Options 2) Put Options With each option type, we'll go through some hypothetical trade examples so you can understand scenarios when buying and selling calls and puts can be profitable, and when the trades will lose money. More specifically, why the option prices make complete sense based on where the stock price is relative to the option's strike price at expiration. What are Call and Put Options? How to Hedge Portfolio Against Risk?

17:18
Build Your Portfolio: https://en.samt.ag/user-registration What are call and put options, and how to hedge your portfolio against risk? In this short video you will learn everything about hedging, risks and options. At the end of the video, I will show you a fantastic strategy how you can secure your portfolio against extreme market movements, using a strategy that costs next to nothing. Let’s look at a short story first… David wants to sell a house for €500,000, near the house there is some vacant land. Two parties, Ryan and Steve are interested in buying it. Ryan wants to build an expensive resort there while Steve wants to build a low-quality school. Mike, another guy, is interested in buying David’s house but he doesn’t have the full amount with him, and won’t have it until the end of the month. He’s worried that, David might sell the house to someone else while he’s waiting for his money. So, he gives €5000 premium, non-returnable, to David, to take the house off the market for a month. While Mike’s waiting for his money to arrive, three things can happen. If Ryan buys the vacant land near the house and builds the resort, it will increase the value of David’s house. Say, to 600,000 €. In that case Mike will be very happy since according to the agreement, he only has to pay 500,000 € for an asset that’s priced at 600,000 now. The second scenario is that Steve buys that land and builds his cheap school, which will decrease the value of the house, say to 400,000 €. In that case Mike’s still locked in at the price of 500,000, so he won’t buy it. In this case his total loss is the 5000 €, the premium amount. There’s a third scenario, where neither Steve nor Ryan buys the vacant land, which means that David’s house will be valued at 500,000. Let me show you how you can hedge your portfolio with a cost effective strategy using options. I’ve included this example this video because, it works! You can use a put option to hedge your investment. For instance, you have a portfolio of €100 000, and you buy a put option for €100 (the right to sell your portfolio at €95 000), since the price of the asset is greater than the strike price, it’s an out-of-the-money hedge, which makes the option cheaper to buy. Let’s see how this hedge will work. Scenario 1 Your portfolio falls to €60 000, but your option gave you the right to sell it for €95 000. Despite a huge drop of 40% in your portfolio’s value, you didn’t lose much. Scenario 2 In the second scenario your portfolio’s value goes up to €120 000, your put option for €100 expires worthless, which is a tiny loss since you just made a healthy €20 000 profit. If you just hedge against the extreme volatility it’s not very expensive, and for a long investment horizon it is beneficial if you don’t have huge losses, the average effect makes you a winner. Let’s take a look at what we’re up against as an investor, so when we hedge, what exactly are the risks that can we hedge against? According to the modern portfolio theory (mpt), there are two types of portfolio risks 1. Systematic risk: It basically refers to the market risks. You, as an investor cannot diversify away these types of risks which include events such as recessions, wars and interest rates. Even portfolio risk adjustment is unable to reduce this risk since many risk events are related to black Mondays or Fridays where the market opens at a much lower level. Systematic risk can be hedged or insured against an event with options. A good diversified portfolio needs less options (or insurance) to insure against the systematic risk. 2. Unsystematic risk: The unsystematic risks, also known as “specific risks”, are specific to any individual stock. You can diversify away the unsystematic risks by increasing the number of stocks in your portfolio. Take a look at this graph: It displays component of the stock’s return. These returns are not correlated with the movement of the general market. There’s a general perception that risk is dangerous, a negative connotation attached to the term ‘risk’. As an investor you must understand risk objectively. Hope you enjoyed the video. If you’d like to learn about our Algo Trading strategies, you can subscribe to our member’s list. Link’s in the description. At SAMT AG, We make diversified portfolio, which is a great choice against normal market risk. It provides a hedge against wild market swings, such as a drop of 30% or more. We hedge portfolios with an ‘out of the money option’, which is way cheaper since its way out of the money, but the protection it allows against unlikely events is extremely useful, your portfolio is hedged. You reap benefits of hedging as long as the market is not down, in fact you will have over-proportion or a significant advantage in your ‘risk-to-value’ ratio with our hedging strategy. When the price of your portfolio exceeds the strike price, you start making very healthy gains.

What is Options Vega? The Options Greeks - Options Trading Tutorial

05:26
Buy The Book Here: https://amzn.to/2CLG5y2 Follow Patrick on Twitter Here: https://twitter.com/PatrickEBoyle What is Options Vega? Vega is a measure of the impact of changes in implied volatility on the option price. Specifically, the vega of an option expresses the change in the price of the option for every 1% change in implied volatility. Options tend to be more expensive when volatility is higher. Thus, whenever volatility goes up, the price of the option goes up and when volatility drops, the price of the option will also fall. Example A stock XYZ is trading at $46 in May and a JUN 50 call is selling for $2. Let's assume that the vega of the option is 0.15 and that the underlying volatility is 25%. If the underlying volatility increased by 1% to 26%, then the price of the option should rise to $2 + 0.15 = $2.15. However, if the volatility had gone down by 2% to 23% instead, then the option price should drop to $2 - (2 x 0.15) = $1.70 Passage of time and its effects on the vega The more time remaining to option expiration, the higher the vega. This makes sense as time value makes up a larger proportion of the premium for longer term options and it is the time value that is sensitive to changes in volatility.

The gamma of an option is expressed as a percentage and reflects the change in the delta in response to a one point movement of the underlying stock price. Like the delta, the gamma is constantly changing, even with tiny movements of the underlying stock price. It generally is at its peak value when the stock price is near the strike price of the option and decreases as the option goes deeper into or out of the money.

Smart Money Futures and Options Data for Analysis (Hindi)

11:35
Smart Money Futures and Options Data for Analysis is available on the NSE website. However, not many technical analysts are not aware of how to pull out futures and options data to track smart money. Some of the crucial data points are open interest and trading volumes i.e. whether the smart money is long/short on the call/put/futures. It helps you to find out the expectation of smart money or FII in terms of the future direction of the stock market. In this video, I have shared how you can pull out the futures and options data for analysis. Besides that, i have explained how to analyze this data. Some of the examples of analysis are as follows 1. If the smart money is short on index future then in all probability they are hedging the cash positions. The trading in futures is mostly for hedging purpose. 2. The short position on the PUT side means FII or big players are bullish on the market. 3. The short positions on the CALL side mean that smart money is bearish on the market. You have to observe the trend for 2 weeks. The data for one day will not help in the conclusion.
