"Любо братцы , любо" ПЕЛАГЕЯ&фолк-театр "ЗАБАЙКАЛЬЕ"
эта историческая казачья песня - о подвиге полков Платова и Ларионова на реке Калалы (Калалах) в 1774 году.
оригинальное начало - "Как на Черной Грязи выгнали татары супротив казаков 40 тысяч лошадей"
..They almost never play in Moscow clubs. The only exceptions are "Kitajskij Lyotchik Jao Da" [Chinese Pilot Jao Da] and "B-2", and even that happened by accident - three years ago Moscow's spectators were introduced to the talent of the 14-year old singer Pelageya at these clubs. Although by that time she had already participated in several high profile state concerts, she was a relative unknown. Since then, people in Murmansk, Edinburgh, Novosibirsk, Tallinn and Paris had more opportunities to attend her performances than her fans in Moscow. Recently the group finished writing material for the new (second in group's history) concert tour. These songs will be included in the next album, which will be released soon.
The new lineup consists of many diverse compositions: varying from meditative to dramatic, from ritualistic to simply entertaining dance numbers. They are all combined only by the "creative creed" of the band: authentic Russian folk songs - which prior to this day were turned into kitsch, or not performed at all due to their archaic nature - these songs deserve to be rehabilitated for the enjoyment of today's audiences.
That's why Pelageya, as a representative of today's youth who cannot bear the creations of the likes of Nadezhda Kadysheva or Babkina, sings Russian folk song "Valenki" accompanied by guitar riffs, sweeping rock-style themes played on bayan, - all in a style of psychedelic shaman rhythms.
She stubbornly refuses to please the public and settle on one singing style. Instead, she tries on different models of the "adult lives." From "Valenki" she effortlessly moves to Orthodox esoteric themes with quotations from the annals of world rock-n-roll, then to the soundtracks of unfinished films about lives of Slavic pagans, traveling through Ancient India or the Far North.
Carefree arrangements, twisting rhythms and bouncing sounds invite public for a shared musical myth-creation. This is how young and brash popularizers of ethnic music invite spectators to play with the "serious music for grown-ups," - and the game is highly addictive.
And while the youth entertains itself with this game, magazine FUZZ nominated the group for the "Best group of 2003" award.
