Oracle Data Integrator 12c - Creating a Collocated Agent

28:28
This is the third in a series of three OLL Live recorded webcasts in the Oracle Data Integrator 12c: Getting Started series. The tutorial series is located at https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:24:0::::P24_CONTENT_ID,P24_PREV_PAGE:7952,1. A common task that is performed using ODI is to set up and install an ODI Agent. After the ODI scenarios are created, they can be scheduled and orchestrated using an ODI Agent, which is a lightweight Java process that orchestrates the execution of ODI scenarios. This tutorial walks you through the steps that are needed to set up and install the ODI Agent. This webcast walks you through the steps that are needed to use Oracle Data Integrator Studio (ODI Studio) graphical tools to create an agent collocated with WLS to support (among other things) scheduling of procedures. Oracle 12c Grant Role to PL/SQL Procedures - Lesson 1 of 2

03:35
A great new security feature that can - among other things - prevent SQL injection and a multitude of other security vulnerabilities. In 12c you can make your PL/SQL code secure using a declarative technique. Simply grant a role to the PL/SQL code and add AUTHID CURRENT_USER so that Oracle runs the code with the privileges of the invoker - not the developer (invoker rights procedures). Presto! Without code reviews and / or debugging you will have hardened your PL/SQL web application! In this free tutorial from SkillBuilders Director of Oracle Database Services, Oracle Certified Master John Watson will demonstrate the development of a simple PL/SQL web application, demonstrate SQL injection and how to prevent it with this new feature.

Importing a Human Resources Database into Microsoft Identity Manager - MIM #7

38:24
I don't claim to be a SQL expert but we get our fingertips wet with some SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Agent Jobs to create an AI database from our Human Resources database. Using this method, I find is a good way to aggregate all the fields from many tables, databases or even servers into one location so Microsoft Identity Manager can have a "one-stop Management Agent". This is not the only method you could use, and this wouldn't work if you need to update or export to your Human Resources database. I speak about this in the video but I adapted this idea from a gentleman named Søren Granfeldt. He is the creator of the PowerShell Management Agent. You can check out his blog here: https://goo.gl/frRDhw. I specifically got this idea from his SQL Sample Scripts for use with his PowerShell MA. 00:00 - Intro 00:22 - Reviewing our mock HR database 02:39 - Creating a SQL query to gather columns for our Management Agent 16:13 - Sharing my adaptation and thoughts of an AI DB 17:51 - Creating our AI DB 20:30 - Creating and scheduling our update people stored procedure 26:06 - Creating our AI Management Agent 28:03 - Modifying our existing AD synchronization rule 29:10 - Creating our AI synchronization rule 31:04 - Modifying the Employee Type validation in the MIM Portal 32:30 - Synchronizing all of our changes 37:36 - Outro

Using Flashback Table with Flashback Version Query

02:24
Oracle Flashback Technology is a group of Oracle Database features that let you view past states of database objects or to return database objects to a previous state without using point-in-time media recovery. Oracle Flashback Version Query Use this feature to retrieve metadata and historical data for a specific time interval (for example, to view all the rows of a table that ever existed during a given time interval). Metadata for each row version includes start and end time, type of change operation, and identity of the transaction that created the row version. To create an Oracle Flashback Version Query, use the VERSIONS BETWEEN clause of the SELECT statement. Oracle Flashback Table Use this feature to restore a table to its state at a previous point in time. You can restore a table while the database is on line, undoing changes to only the specified table.
