🔥 Australia's worst mining disaster Dalyston No 20 Shaft Historical site Wonthaggi

09:28
Two significant coal mine disasters took place here at the no 20 Shaft in Dalyston, Victoria, Australia 📌 The first occurred during the first year of operation on the 20th February 1931, when 4 men died underground. Then disaster strikes once again, on the 15th February 1937, in which another 13 men died underground this explosion was so powerful ,it blew the cage out of the shaft some 40 ft above the surface, and hit the poppet head, making this the worst mining disaster in Australia's history. The newspaper of the day "the Canberra Times" can be read from the national archives. (Link Below) 📌 http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/2424471 📌 This second disaster, in which Thirteen miners were killed from the explosion, resulted in a successful national campaign to improve conditions for all Australian miners. So at least some good came from the sad deaths of these miners. May they rest in piece. The Dalyston township today, is nothing more than a few assorted stones and cement slabs laying around, and allotment numbers found on maps of the area. Exploring The Abandoned Calhoun Mine - Part 2 of 2

24:15
Chamber after chamber, drift after drift and level after level running in all directions created a massive labyrinth through the placer deposits in the upper sections of this mine... Even following “Right Hand Rules” in which every fork or junction that one comes to, one goes to the far right in order to not get lost (you go to the far left on the way out) was not sufficient to prevent me from making a couple of wrong turns and having to backtrack on the way out. I think you’ll understand why when you see what it is like in there! I had the impression that there might be more than I had expected on the upper levels after seeing so many ore passages on the level of the main haulage adit (which was itself larger than I anticipated). However, I was still stunned by the enormous workings on the upper levels. To me, they just seemed to go on forever and I ended up spending hours on these upper levels. Aside from the huge scale of the workings, I was also fascinated to be so deeply inside of the placer deposits. The placer is, of course, the compressed remains of the ancient river channels that used to run through this section of where the Sierra Nevada mountains are now. Composed as they are of sand, gravel and round river rock that is simply squeezed together, these placer deposits do not hold up well after breasting (the process of tunneling through and clearing out large chambers where these placer deposits are found). Normally, when we enter historic abandoned placer mines, we encounter major collapses once the mine hits a raise or stope that punched into the placer. This is quite frustrating as some of these mines have many thousands of feet of workings, but we are all too often stopped just a short ways inside the adit. As such, we rarely get to see the actual placer deposits. So, for me, it blew my mind to be so exceptionally deep inside all of these chambers and drifts that were composed entirely of placer deposits. Unquestionably, my favorite section in this abandoned mine was the very, very long and perfectly arched hallway that almost gave the impression of being inside a cathedral. This was one impressive abandoned mine and one that definitely deserves a return visit for more exploring… As reported in the last video, the earliest written records of this abandoned mine that I could find were newspaper articles dating back to 1908. However, the articles also mention that the mine used to be known by another name and dates back even earlier. So, we know that the mine is well over a century old. The most extensive work was apparently done during the 1920s and 1930s when thousands of feet of drifts were driven in (and apparently this is when the labyrinth was more fully developed). ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! It really does make a difference… You can click here for the full playlist of abandoned mines: https://goo.gl/TEKq9L If you like these videos on exploring abandoned mines, please subscribe! https://goo.gl/yjPxH1 Thanks for watching! ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that niche of our history is gone forever. But, guess what? We have fun doing it! This is exploring history firsthand – bushwhacking down steep canyons and over rough mountains, figuring out the techniques the miners used and the equipment they worked with, seeing the innovations they came up with, discovering lost mines that no one has been in for a hundred years, wandering through ghost towns where the only sound is the wind... These journeys allow a feeling of connection to a time when the world was a very different place. And I’d love to think that in some small way we are paying tribute to those hardy miners that worked these mines before we were even born. So, yes, in short, we are adit addicts… I hope you’ll join us on these adventures! #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines #UndergroundMineExploring

Exploring The Abandoned Calhoun Mine - Part 1 of 2

22:17
I was completely overwhelmed by this mine. I mean, there is absolutely no way to tell from the outside just how significant of an operation this was. There was no visible mining infrastructure outside except for a few boards and the remains of a car from the 1930s. And, perhaps the most reliable indicator, which is a large waste rock pile, was completely misleading as the waste rock pile only consisted of that small landing where I filmed the portal from. I don’t know what they did with all of the waste rock… So, I went inside thinking that this would be a fairly modest mine. And, to be fair, the main haulage adit was of about an average size. However, all of the ore passages and suggestions of extensive upper levels still didn’t prepare me for the scale of what was above me. After ascending the metal ladder near the portal, I discovered there was a massive labyrinth of chambers and drifts spanning multiple levels above the main haulage adit. As I worked my way through chamber after breasted out chamber, I just could not believe how much was up there. In fact, for the first time ever, I was not able to finish a mine exploration. Yes, it was THAT big. The batteries on everything but my flashlight died and even my flashlight battery was starting to fade, so I had to wrap it up without being able to fully explore this abandoned mine as I like to do (since I hate the feeling of unfinished business). I was in this mine for hours and I walked around inside so much, that I gave myself severe blisters from the waders (which are not intended for distance walking). I really had no idea what I was getting into with this mine and it is definitely one of the most surprising mines I have ever been inside… The earliest written records of this abandoned mine that I could find were newspaper articles dating back to 1908. However, the articles also mention that the mine used to be known by another name and dates back even earlier. So, we know that the mine is well over a century old. We’re just not sure of exactly how old or what its origins are. The most extensive work appears to have been done during the 1920s and 1930s when thousands of feet of drifts were driven in (and apparently this is when the labyrinth was more fully developed). ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! K92 Mining $KNT.V $KNTNF Acquired Near Term Producing Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea From Barrick

14:25
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog Ian Stalker is CEO of K92 Mining (KNT.V or KNTNF), a near term gold producer in Papua New Guinea. Ian has around four decades of mine development expertise successfully starting eight major mines. Ian became famous in the summer of 2007 when he sold his company UraMin to Areva for $2.5 Billion. Before starting junior companies, Ian was Vice President of Gold Fields, the fourth largest gold producer. Investors seem to be confident in his corporate leadership as he has raised more than $500 million to develop mining projects. Ian Stalker is now focused on K92 Mining (KNT.V or KNTNF) a new IPO which is restarting the Kainantu Gold Mine which they acquired from Barrick (ABX), the world's largest publicly traded gold producer, at a major discount to what Barrick originally paid. Barrick mined the property in Papua New Guinea from 2006-2009. Papua New Guinea is a democracy and is known as the land of large mines. Mining is vital to the local economy and major companies have operated large mines successfully including Barrick, Newcrest and Harmony. "I think the Kainantu project is one of the most prospective in Papua New Guinea. The strength of the structures and veins are most impressive. And they contain significant high grade gold!" – ALEX DAVIDSON, K92 Mining Advisor & Former Executive Vice President Barrick Gold Corporation Disclosure: Jeb Handwerger owns K92 Mining and the company is a website sponsor. Owning securities and receiving compensation is a conflict of interest as I could personally benefit from a price/volume increase. Please do your own due diligence as this is not financial advice! See my full disclosure by clicking on the following link: http://goldstocktrades.com/blog/featured-companies-on-gold-stock-trades/ Investing in stocks is risky and could result in losing money. Buyer Beware! Section 17(b) provides that: “It shall be unlawful for any person, by the use of any means or instruments of transportation or communication in interstate commerce or by the use of the mails, to publish, give publicity to, or circulate any notice, circular, advertisement, newspaper, article, letter, investment service, or communication, which, though not purporting to offer a security for sale, describes such security for a consideration received or to be received, directly or indirectly, from an issuer, underwriter, or dealer, without fully disclosing the receipt, whether past or prospective, of such consideration and the amount thereof.” I am biased towards my sponsors (Featured Companies) and get paid in either cash or securities for an advertising sponsorship. I own shares in all sponsored companies. You must do your own due diligence and realize that small cap stocks is an extremely high risk area. Please do your own due diligence!

Witness In The Alleged Human Sacrifice Case At PRP Granites Mines Site Speaks To The Indian Express

P R Palanichamy, the mining baron who heads the country’s largest granite export firm, is set to be questioned by Madurai police Wednesday after skeletal remains of four persons, including a child, were dug up from a mining quarry last Sunday following allegations of human sacrifice. The remains were exhumed following a complaint from a former employee of PRP Granites that human sacrifices were carried out at the site, allegedly by Palanichamy’s associates each time the firm expanded business or razed local temples for mining operations. IDM Mining $IDM.V $RVRCF Discovering New High Grade Gold Zones at Red Mountain

13:00
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog IDM Mining (IDM.V or RVRCF) is having a great summer starting with an updated PEA published in July which showed low cost underground production and capital costs. However, one of the areas which could be improved is mine life where a larger resource is required to be taken out by a mid-tier producer. It seems management has addressed that issue with the drill discovering new high grade gold zones with consistent and impressive high grade drill results which should be continuing through this Autumn. There are few high quality near term producers in Canada and especially in BC's Golden Triangle. IDM is one of the few left after Kaminak, Lake Shore and Claude which were all acquired earlier this year. If IDM keeps on hitting these results they may not be around much longer. Disclosure: I own securities in IDM Mining and they are a paid advertising sponsor on my website. This should be considered a conflict of interest as I could benefit from price/volume increase and have been compensated. See full disclaimer and current advertising rates by clicking on the following link: http://goldstocktrades.com/blog/featured-companies-on-gold-stock-trades/ Section 17(b) provides that: “It shall be unlawful for any person, by the use of any means or instruments of transportation or communication in interstate commerce or by the use of the mails, to publish, give publicity to, or circulate any notice, circular, advertisement, newspaper, article, letter, investment service, or communication, which, though not purporting to offer a security for sale, describes such security for a consideration received or to be received, directly or indirectly, from an issuer, underwriter, or dealer, without fully disclosing the receipt, whether past or prospective, of such consideration and the amount thereof.”

AnonyMine: Mining anonymous social media posts using psycho-lingual and crowd-sourced dictionaries

21:54
Author: Arindam Paul, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Northwestern University Abstract: There is lot of research activity in the area of opinion mining and sentiment analysis, which deals with the computational treatment of opinion, sentiment, and subjectivity in text. Social media websites have become increasingly popular for discussing uncomfortable topics. However, there are limited resources for mining and automatically labeling posts discussing self-disclosure. There is great incentive for a system which can be useful for monitoring emotional state of users, both for the research community as well as for mental health and business purposes. This paper presents a case where we leverage information from psycho-lingual and crowd-sourced dictionaries to create a system which can automatically predict anonymous posts about taboo topics on a social media site (Facebook Confessions). We achieve more than 80% accuracy for the most popular taboo topics, and an overall accuracy of 61.25 % across all taboo categories. We evaluate our system in two ways: a) comparing against human-annotated posts on another anonymous social media platform YikYak b) an evaluation against existing state-of-the-art models. Cherry Mine Part 09

"THE FLAMES CAUGHT US" Cherry Mine 1909 The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library will open a major exhibit "The Flames Caught Us" Cherry Mine 1909 on November 1, 2009 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Mine Disaster. On November 13, 1909, a fire broke out at the St. Paul Coal mine in Cherry, Illinois that claimed the lives of 259 men and boys. The exhibit will be free to the public running through March 31, 2010 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Fire in the Mine! The St. Paul Coal Company Mine in Cherry, a mining town in Bureau County, began operation in 1905 and supplied the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad with 300,000 tons of coal annually for its locomotives. The mine featured the latest equipment and operated smoothly until November 13, 1909, when a torch caught a load of hay on fire about 500 feet below the surface. Of the 490 men and boys in the mine at the time, a total of 259 died from the fire itself or the poisonous gases it produced. A Story of Heroism Heroic rescue efforts, including one in which 12 rescuers themselves died, filled newspaper accounts of the disaster. The one incredible survival story involved the "eight-day" men, a group of 21 trapped miners who sealed themselves off from the fire and were rescued eight days later by a team that had been sent below to retrieve bodies. Voices from the Past The exhibit will tell the story of the coal mining disaster in the words of those who witnessed first hand the tragic events in November 1909. The collections of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library which include photographs, coroner's reports, oral histories, published books, newspaper articles, government reports, music, and manuscript resource materials pertaining to the mine disaster will be used in conjunction with coal mining artifacts to tell and interpret the story of the tragedy at the Cherry Mine. Lessons Learned While informing the public about the coal mining industry, immigrant labor, and mine safety at the turn of the 20th Century, the exhibit will take them beyond the tragedy to understand the changes the Cherry Mine Disaster made in the advancement of labor welfare and mine safety enjoyed by miners in the 21st Century. As a result of the Cherry Mine Disaster, safety regulations were implemented throughout the mining industry, and a liability act, which became what is now the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act, was enacted.

Senior Level Mine Builder Looks To Revive Gold Production in the Kootenays, BC

11:45
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog MX Gold (MXL.V or MXLGF) has recently gotten a lot of interest after they announced the appointment of 37 year veteran mine builder Bert McPherson who came from GoldCorp (GG). They have been able to close on a few financings strengthening the financial situation since Bert has taken the helm. Bert managed the Penasquito Mine in Mexico with over 1400 workers reporting directly to his office. It is the second largest mine and the largest gold producer in Mexico and has been a great mine for Goldcorp. Before Goldcorp Bert built mines for Kinross, Barrick and Xstrata. Now Bert wants to build a profitable operation for MX Gold in the Kootenays in British Columbia. They own a gold asset and a permitted mill that appear to show excellent economics. A lot has been put into these operations by prior companies as there is approximately $100 million invested with large tax loss pools. Attracting a senior level mine builder like Bert McPherson is a huge step in the right direction and now the company should move efficiently into production. I would not be surprised if some mid tier producers look to acquire this company once the operations come together. Disclosure: I own securities in MX Gold and the company is a current website sponsor of mine. Please be aware of these conflicts of interest and do your own due diligence.

Westray Mine disaster - The Last Shift - the fifth estate

29:11
On May 9th 1992 an explosion ripped apart the Westray Coal Mine in Pictou County, Nova Scotia killing 26 miners. The Fifth Estate and the Journal co-produced this story about the tragedy. The mine was opened the year before despite misgivings that the geology of the area was unstable and prone to large volumes of methane gas. The Federal Government was reluctant help the private company starting the mine after numerous reports cited geological concerns. But after heavy lobbying the mine opened. From the beginning miners complained of safety issues, rock falls, high methane gas levels and large amounts of coal dust. The company's output and quality of coal were disappointing. Inspectors visited the mine 49 times. Critics claim inspectors didn't take the conditions seriously enough and that the company was negligent. Government officials say it's not at fault. But the miners say even if the mine were to reopen they would never go back.Linden MacIntyre hosts.

Great Trail Lost French Gold 2014 ( Minerva Ohio )

03:05
The story begins at the French occupied Fort Duquesne before an oncoming battle* against the English. Not knowing the outcome of the battle, the French spared ten men to escort a hoard of gold and silver to a place of safety, presumably Fort Detroit. According to the legend there were sixteen packhorses carrying the load. If trouble should arise the men were told to bury the treasure and mark the spot. After several days on the trail the French escort spotted what they believed to be an advanced guard of British soldiers. The treasure was quickly buried and landmarks made to relocate the spot. Soon after, a skirmish took place and eight of the ten Frenchmen were killed. Hints of the Treasure The story seemed to be lost until 1829, when a nephew of one of the two Frenchmen who escaped the ordeal found memorandums of his uncle's adventures. Among the papers was the story of the unrecovered French treasure. The young man made a search for the lost treasure in the area between East Rochester and Minerva. The search stirred much excitement among the citizens in the area. He told them of the landmarks where the treasure was supposedly buried: two springs, a deer carved on a tree one mile east, and another tree with a rock in its branch, by a spring 1/2 mile west. After a long and unproductive search the stranger gave up and returned home. The Search Continued This was not the end of the search. People in the area continued for years to look and dig for the treasure. Between 1829 and 1875 the landmarks were found, mostly by accident***. The two springs were known and believed to be Beaver Hat Spring and Cranberry Spring. The carved deer was also known, at that time, although this tree was cut down at a later date. The stone in the forks of a tree was found while cutting the tree to make fence rails. Other evidence has also been exposed. Artifacts from the period were said to be found in this area, such as a musket, shovel, bullet mold, musket balls, and other like relics. If the treasure ever existed, no one will ever know, that is unless such a treasure should ever be found. The newspaper article of 1875** once again stirred interest and people again began to pit the ground in hopes of finding such a large sum of gold and silver. Even today people return to this area to try their luck at locating the treasure. As of yet, no treasure has been found and the story of the hidden treasure lives on only as a legend.

Ghosts of Old Dora/A Story that Must Be Told/Tragedy & Joy

15:18
This is one of the many stories that can be told about the people of the coal mining town of old Dora. As I was looking through one of my Mother's scrap books, I realized a story unfolded within the pages. The photographs and newspaper articles pieced together a story that took place during 20 years of her life. I was aware of some of the events that had happened before I was born, the death of a friend and the postmaster taking his own life, but I had never before been able to put the together like I have in this video. So in a way this video is a resolution to those thoughts that I had as well as a telling of this story of joy and tragedy. During one of our nation's darkest times, the great depression and World War 2, my Mother who was a strong woman and role model, survived and emerged resolute. This is the story she has left behind to tell through this scrap book.

Slender: The Arrival Walkthrough - Xbox One - Part 3: Generators and little boys

24:17
Slender: The Arrival Walkthrough - Xbox One - Part 3: Generators and little boys Another Teddy Bear?!?!...WTF?! Chapter 3 "Into the Abyss" Lauren awakes in a field close to the Kullman Mining Facility. As she explores the closed valley, she finds that she must enter a dark tunnel into a mountain that, as is alluded to in a collectible newspaper article, was created by Kullman Mining Co. after purchasing mineral rights from the owners of Oakside Park. As she enters, Lauren sees a sign that instructs that in the event of a power-outage, six generators must be activated in order to power the emergency lift and escape. As she powers the generators, she realizes that she is being chased by a figure in a white hood and a mask, later revealed to be Kate, driven violently mad by the Slenderman's influence. The situation becomes worse due to the fact that Lauren is also being chased by the Slender Man who starts appearing in front of her at random times after the second generator is powered. As all six generators are activated, Lauren activates the lift and is risen to the top of the mining shaft, transitioning to Chapter 4. Chapter 7 "Homestead" CR goes to investigate the abandoned Matheson Farmstead. While there he finds various hints that the Mathesons have been watched by Slender Man for generations. Despite his findings he is chased by the now horrifically altered Charlie off the property. Chapter 8 "Memories" While Charlie Matheson Jr. is playing at the Beach with his family having a picnic, he sees a trail of toy trains leading him to the woods. His parents eventually look for him by calling out Charlie's name. After Charlie grabs the last part of the toy train, Slender Man starts stalking him. Shivering in fear, Charlie begins to run at end of the woods only to head into a dead end as Slender Man's tentacles grab Charlie. He then begins to scream as the screen turns black. This stage can be unlocked by finding the stuffed teddy bear in the woods in Chapter 4. The majority of the game takes place in abandoned areas (house, defunct mine, etc.), each with different objectives. Slender: The Arrival uses similar mechanics to its predecessor, The Eight Pages. The character is armed only with a flashlight. This limited defense forces a sense of helplessness, as the best way to survive in the game is to run whenever in danger. The Slender Man's behavior changes slightly between levels. In the first level, the Slender Man can be seen outside the window, and after going through the gate outside he can be seen on the top of hills well away from the player. In level two, he most often teleports off-screen or just out of the character's line of sight, but is capable of appearing directly in front of the player. It is observed that his motion centers around following the player, but consists largely of jumping from place to place, the inconvenience of which is increased as each of the eight pages are collected. His behavior is much the same as this in level four, except more active. In level three, he pursues much less aggressively, serving less as the main antagonist of the level and more as a scare tactic, though is capable of teleporting directly in front of the player and ending the game. In this level, the main antagonist is a girl who chases the player (most often following her path directly, but has been seen teleporting. It is unknown whether this is a glitch or an in-game mechanic). The only way of subduing her is by focusing the flashlight (on its second setting) on her. While looking at the Slender Man, the camera succumbs to electronic distortions such as static, blurring, color spots, audio distortion, etc., which obstructs the player's vision unless facing away, and far enough from it. The player cannot pause while this occurs, to prevent them taking a break due to being frightened. When caught, the death screen is also different; while in Slender: The Eight Pages, the player saw a white static background with Slender Man's faceless head, the one for Slender: The Arrival is black, with an overhead-lit and color-distorted hue and less static.[6] There are also new choices in difficulty (which must first be unlocked by completing the game once) being easy, normal, and hardcore. The differences being that hardcore allows the flashlight to run out, enemies are more aggressive and the player's stamina runs out quickly. Easy has infinite flashlight, a great deal of stamina, and the enemies are not very aggressive.

Australia's Unknown "Oak Island", Excavation attempts.. PLUS site visit to treasure area!

09:23
This video follows on from the previous one. We tell the story of the excavations at the site! From the video: The newspaper articles say that about 120 years ago, Kerosene Jack was seen walking around, peering at the ground in various beaches around queenscliff. He was an amiable kind of guy, but became strangely reticent when questioned about any treasure. Nevertheless it is he who may have formed most of the legend of hte treausre. A pirates map had been tatooed on his arm. One article states that he lived in a shack made up of kerosene cans. Another says his name was Jack Karissimo. Some say his name was actually Stringaree Jack. He seems to have died decades before the big treasure-hunting syndicates were able to tackle the site, as an old man. Every newspaper article seems to tell a different tale. It seems people began looking for the treasure in response to Kerosene Jack's drunken tales in the 1920s. One article from the 20s, claimed the council's main interest in the matter was simply filling in holes in the beach which had been dug. Syndicates seem to have been digging since about 1900. A well-funded syndicate in 1935 located one likely location using dowsing rods. They began digging in earnest. In 1937 they abandoned their almost fifty foot shaft as it was filling with water. By 1938, they had resumed their shaft, with a pump which could displace 50,000 gallons per hour. At one time they halted their excavation until they could bring in 'powerful submarine lights'. They also brought in huge steel cylinders to shore up the shaft they had dug, spending thousands of pounds on their enterprise. Alternately, the articles seem to be suggesting these steel cylinders were a kind of bathysphere, for men to work in. By now this syndicate had sunk various timbered shafts around a central hole, with a mining engineer in charge, with boring equipment. Labourers and divers were even hired but in the end, around the beginning of the war, it is said that their reward was only sand. In one newspaper article from 1938, the journalist says he was shown some recovered treasure in Queenscliff, by one hunter. It consisted of pistols and swords supposedly once belonging to Ben Bonito. The hunter claimed that he was refused permission to dig, as he did not specify the location, and they feared he would dig up the main street of Queens-cliff. At 58 feet, the team found an underwater room, but nothing came of it. In the 1950s a new and even larger syndicate took over. They used a dowser who employed two sharp metal rods, to sense electromagnetic energies of the gold. When he walked over the site, the recoil was so hard that the rods snapped back and nearly cut his thumbs off. This was convincing enough for the syndicate to begin digging in earnest. The syndicate was fuelled by the discovery of a seventeenth century Spanish coin near the cliffs. This however may have just been a plant. It was said to have been backed by 'wealthy western grazers'. A pump which could displace 350,000 gallons per hour was brought in, and a huge mechanical scoop. Allegedly, on one weekend, such was the newspaper frenzy that seven thousand holiday-goers from Melbourne arrived to shake their hands and wish them luck. One article by a journalist claims that he was told by a publican that the syndicate members were in his bar, 'celebrating' one night and passing a round object between themselves. Since it was run by an open-cut mining engineer, By 1955, the hole was being described in newspapers as a 'crater', sixty feet deep, with only an old 1880s Enfield rifle recovered. One story says that students of the nearby school are scared that gelignite blasting would shatter their windows, and debris was falling on students. Another story says the windows did shatter and the students were cut by flying glass. The syndicate apologised and promised no more blasting, but it was too late. The government swiftly stepped in and despite howls of protest, their licence was revoked, and the team banished from the site forever, along with all other excavations. Over time people would forget that the possible treasure even existed... I decided to visit with some friends and have a look, we went to the blasting site and later some cliff caves on the other side of the peninsula. Check this out!
