New Micro Futures - Say Goodbye to Forex?

07:33
New Micro Futures - Say Goodbye to Forex? It’s a new thing that will come out in May 2019 which will drop the capital requirements. On 11 March 2019 CME Group announced the launch of Micro E-mini futures on the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000 and Dow Jones Industrial Average indexes. The new contracts will be one-tenth the size of existing E-mini futures, and are set to be available for trading in May 2019 An E-micro is a futures contract traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Globex electronic trading platform, that represents an even smaller fraction of the value of the normal futures contracts than the corresponding E-mini. Micro E-mini futures fit seamlessly within our current product suite and give all traders a simple way to access the equity index futures markets. At 1/10th the size of a classic E-mini contract, Micro E-minis require less cash to enter the market with lower margins. This will enable more people to trade at a lower risk from May 2019 with Micro futures. This also mean that you will also win less, and a lot lower starting requirement. That means that you can start trading which much lower amounts of money, although you make less at the beginning you also lose less when you learn at the beginning. Since trading is 80 % psychology, you can start practicing with the psychology a lot faster and learn that in a better way. Now there’s no reason to trade forex instead of micro futures. This are great news for all traders out there, and even more so for those who are risk averse. Don’t forget to comment below if you have any questions for me, I always try to answer all your question. My aim is always to be transparent with you and I always try to share as much as possible for you to understand the reality of the trading world and of a trader’s life. Futures Trading: How to Trade the Yield Curve - CME Bond Futures, Infinity Futures, Sierra Charts

05:49
Let me show the Correct Way to Trade Bond Futures GRAB YOUR FREE WEEK HERE https://goo.gl/RXhLnY .Learn futures traders strategies in simple step by jonathan rose Learn Futures Trading in this video - How to trade the yield curve, sierra charts, infinity futures 1. Commodities Futures Trading Hopefully, if you are already trading you have completed your initial futures trading education: contract specs, trading hours, brokers, platforms, the opportunities as well as the risk and need to use risk capital in futures trading, and so on. Understanding this information is essential to commodities trading. The second type of education is ongoing: learning about trading techniques, the evolution of markets, different trading tools, and more. 2. Find a System I am definitely not advising you to go on the web and subscribe to a "black box" futures trading system (using buy/sell triggers if don't know why they are being generated). What I am advising is developing a trading technique: a general set of rules and a trading concept. As you progress, you may want to put the different rules and indicators into a computerized system, but the most important factor is to have a focus and a plan. Don't just wake up in the morning and trade "blank." 3. Survival This is the key! Do what you need to do in order to survive this brutal business and give yourself the chance of being here down the road with more experience and a better chance of success. Survival is probably the biggest key for beginning commodities traders. There is a saying in this business: "live to trade another day." It is so true! 4. Money Management While it is closely related to survival, money management in futures trading can also stand alone. For your own survival, you must set trade/daily/weekly loss limits. Sound money management is closely associated with knowing your risk-reward ratio (again, per trade and per time frame). 5. Commodities Trading Goals You should have a game plan and established goals which will function as a road map to measure your progress and improvement. Set per-trade goals, daily goals, weekly goals, etc. Many of you who are clients are familiar with these questions: What is your daily profit goal? Where do you see yourself in a week from now.? Six months from now? A year from now? How are you planning to get there? Break it down into small steps, and you'll always know whether or not you're on the right track. And do not forget to continually re-evaluate your financial situation as it pertains to risk capital. Trader Training: Trading Bitcoin Futures on the CME | Axia Futures

09:01
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ With Bitcoin futures soon to be launched on the CME, this trader training session looks at ways to think about trading this market when it becomes available. Brannigan stresses that it's important to leave our opinions aside and focus on the facts, as this is still a market in its infancy and is not an easy one to accurately value. Trading on a fundamental view at this moment would be forcing an opinion onto a market that we still know very little about. The CME is said to launch this product in Decemeber and will likely act as a hedging tool for large institutions to manage risk. It will likely be a thin and volatile market, therefore the most consistent winners will be the best risk managers. Some other points to be aware of are: the potential for the futures to hold a higher value than the underlying; and the CME being shut over weekends while others are not, exposing holders to various risks. From a technical view, we notice how Bitcoin swings with shallow pullbacks and trends very well. A recent example to compare this market to is the Chinese Shanghai index. The period in focus was when a lot of brokerage trading took place in China and what many market participants at the time called a bubble. The Shanghai index is reminiscent of Bitcoin and is a recent example for us to lean on as a market that had a lot of speculation, and what we may consider to see playing out in this new asset class. Hi it’s Invest Diva’s Kiana with News BTC and here is your crypotocurrency update. A new chapter has begun for cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin launches on the US futures markets. The Chicago Board of Options Exchange (CBOE) started trading on Sunday, December 10th using the ticker symbol ($XBT). It will base the value of one (1) Bitcoin which will be determined by the settlement or last trade at 4:00 PM (ET)by the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. Trading hours start at 6:00 PM Sunday night. Regular trading hours will be from 9:30 AM Monday through 4:30 PM Friday. Margin Requirement is based on a 30% rate. Although, how they determine this will be interesting based on recent value fluctuations. But this is not all. Next week, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will start trading on its contract on December 17th using the symbol ($BTC). It will base the contract size on five (5) times the value of one (1) Bitcoin using a combined market value derived from four cryptocurrency exchanges, Bitstamp, GDAX, itBit, and Kraken. Initially, it will have a 35% margin requirement with the two front-month calendar contracts and then quarterly months (Dec. March, June, and September.) Under this set-up starting next Sunday night, the contracts listed for trading will be January, February, March, June, September, and December contracts. Trading hours will start Sunday night on the GLOBEX open at 6:00 PM and trade through Monday until 5:00 PM (ET) and will reopen at 6:00 PM (ET) giving a one hour break. Thanks for watching, invest responsibly, and I’ll see you with more updates tomorrow.

CBOE and CME Battle for the Bitcoin Futures Trade Market

01:26
Investing.com - Chicago’s two largest derivatives exchanges are battling for the US Bitcoin futures trade market. The CME will begin offering Bitcoin futures on December 18th, but the CBOE will start on December 11th, giving them a head start and a week of exclusivity. What’s the difference between the two exchanges? First, CME prices will derive from four different Bitcoin exchanges, while CBOE contracts will be based on prices from Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange run by the Winklevoss twins. Second, CME plans to limit investors to 1,000 contracts, while the CBOE will set the limit at 5,000. Both companies say that deals will be settled in cash the day after the contracts expire. It remains to be seen what the introduction of US futures trading will do to Bitcoin. The speculative buzz is that the influx of institutional investors could spur Bitcoin even higher. But there are also some who are concerned that the ability to short Bitcoin will crash the market. Brian Quintenz, the CFTC Commissioner, has warned that “it is incumbent on market participants to conduct appropriate due diligence to determine whether these products, which have at times exhibited extreme volatility, are appropriate for them.” https://invst.ly/600ji

Bitcoin hits bigger stage as exchange giant CME launches futures

04:16
NEW YORK (Reuters) - CME Group Inc, the world’s largest derivatives exchange operator, began trading bitcoin futures on Sunday, with the contract opening at what is currently its session high and dropping over 6 percent within the first half hour. The CME bitcoin front-month futures opened at $20,650 (15,497.2 pounds) and have so far traded as low as $19,290 and as high as $20,650 in a session that extends into Monday. The new contract was recently at $19,290 on CME, below the $19,500 reference price set by the exchange for the January contract. The reference price, from which price limits are set, is $19,600 for the February contract, $19,700 for March and $19,900 for June, according to CME. The week-old bitcoin futures contract at the Cboe was last trading at $19,280, up 6.5 percent on the day. Bitcoin recently traded down 1.7 percent on the Bitstamp exchange at $18,640. The launch of bitcoin futures is viewed as a major step in the digital currency’s path toward legitimacy that should ease the entry of big institutional investors. “We saw a nice open on light volume, but pretty uneventful so far. I do think we could certainly pick up in volume as Asia begins to open. This is a brand-new asset class and I think perhaps a lot of investors want to sit back and see how this plays out before dipping their toes in this market,” Spencer Bogart, partner at Blockchain Capital LLC, said shortly after trading began on Sunday. Volume on CME was recently at 287 contracts. On its debut last Sunday, the Cboe traded nearly 4,000 contracts during the full session. Bitcoin was set up in 2008 by an individual or group calling itself Satoshi Nakamoto, and was the first digital currency to successfully use cryptography to keep transactions secure and hidden, making traditional financial regulation difficult if not impossible. Last week, Chicago-based derivatives exchange Cboe Global Markets launched bitcoin futures, which saw the price surge nearly 20 percent in its debut. Some investors believe the CME bitcoin futures could attract more institutional demand because the final settlement price is culled from multiple exchanges. The Cboe futures contract is based on a closing auction price of bitcoin from the Gemini exchange, which is owned and operated by virtual currency entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. The general sentiment in the market remains one of caution and that has been reflected in margin requirements for the contracts. In the futures market, margin refers to the initial deposit made into an account in order to enter into a contract. The margin requirement at CME is 35 percent, while at Cboe, it is 40 percent, reflecting bitcoin’s volatility. The margin for an S&P 500 futures contract, by contrast, is just 5 percent, analysts said. One futures trader said the average margin for brokers or intermediaries on bitcoin contracts was roughly twice the exchange margins.

Making Millions Trading Futures: New York Merc Exchange Trading Floor (2007)

33:05
The New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) is a commodity futures exchange owned and operated by CME Group of Chicago. NYMEX is located at One North End Avenue in the World Financial Center in the Battery Park City section of Manhattan, New York City. Additional offices are located in Boston, Washington, Atlanta, San Francisco, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. The company's two principal divisions are the New York Mercantile Exchange and Commodity Exchange, Inc (COMEX), once separately owned exchanges. NYMEX Holdings, Inc., the former parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange and COMEX, became listed on the New York Stock Exchange on November 17, 2006, under the ticker symbol NMX. On March 17, 2008, Chicago based CME Group signed a definitive agreement to acquire NYMEX Holdings, Inc. for $11.2 billion in cash and stock and the takeover was completed in August 2008. Both NYMEX and COMEX now operate as designated contract markets (DCM) of the CME Group. The other two designated contract markets in the CME Group are the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade. The New York Mercantile Exchange handles billions of dollars' worth of energy products, metals, and other commodities being bought and sold on the trading floor and the overnight electronic trading computer systems for future delivery. The prices quoted for transactions on the exchange are the basis for prices that people pay for various commodities throughout the world. The floor of the NYMEX is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, an independent agency of the United States government. Each individual company that trades on the exchange must send its own independent brokers. Therefore, a few employees on the floor of the exchange represent a big corporation and the exchange employees only record the transactions and have nothing to do with the actual trade. Although mostly electronic since 2006, the NYMEX maintains a small venue that still practices the open outcry trading system, in which traders employ shouting and complex hand gestures on the physical trading floor. A project to preserve the hand signals used at NYMEX has been published. NYMEX held a virtual monopoly on "open market" oil futures trading (as opposed to the dark market or "over the counter" market). However in the early 2000s the electronically based exchanges started taking away the business of the open outcry markets like NYMEX. Enron's online energy trading system was part of this trend. Jeff Sprecher's IntercontinentalExchange, or ICE, was another example. ICE eventually began trading oil contracts that were extremely similar to NYMEX's, taking away market share almost immediately.[5] The open outcry NYMEX pit traders had always been against electronic trading because it threatened their income and their lifestyle. The executives at NYMEX felt that electronic trading was the only way to keep the exchange competitive. NYMEX teamed up with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to use Globex in 2006. The trading pits emptied out as many traders quit. Banks, hedge funds, and huge oil companies stopped making telephone calls to the pits and started trading directly for themselves over screens.[5] In this period the NYMEX also worked on founding the Dubai Mercantile Exchange in the United Arab Emirates.[5] This was chronicled by Ben Mezrich in his New York Times Best Selling book Rigged (book) which has been optioned for film adaptation by Summit Entertainment. The final executive management of NYMEX decided to sell it off in pieces, take golden parachute buyouts, and leave. In 2006 NYMEX underwent an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The executives and exchange members owning seats on the exchange saw their net worth increase by millions of dollars in a few hours - many of the pit traders, who leased their seats instead of owning, did not. Other parts of NYMEX were sold to private equity investors and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The CME got ownership of the physical facilities and began scrubbing the NYMEX logo and name off of various artifacts and closed the NYMEX museum. NYMEX eventually became little more than a brand name used by CME.[5] By 2011, NYMEX open outcry trading was relegated for the most part to a small number of people trading options.[18] In 2009 it was reported that holders of COMEX gold futures contracts experienced problems taking delivery of their metal. Along with chronic delivery delays, some investors received delivery of bars not matching their contract in serial number and weight. The delays could not be easily explained by slow warehouse movements, as the daily reports of these movements showed little activity. Because of these problems, there were concerns that COMEX did not have the gold inventory to back its existing warehouse receipts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Mercantile_Exchange
