Client forwarding rules is a common method for data breaches in Office 365. What they do is make every email that is received by an Office 365/Exchange mailbox get forwarded to an external party. This setting is available automatically in the Office 365 Enterprise SKUs via Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center but you can also set it up manually in EAC (Exchange Admin Center).

As mail sent or received by this user will not be archived on the Vaultastic server. To know more visit: http://bit.ly/2u5VU1o Tutorial Transcript: Greetings from Mithi, welcome to a series of self learning videos on understanding and using Vaultastic, the easiest and the most secure email archiving solution yet. In this video we will learn how to set a recipient for NDR. This video explains the steps required to setup a recipient for non-deliverable journal reports. If you are configuring journal rules for the first time, you need to specify the alternate journaling recepient for undeliverable journal reports. If a journal report can't be delivered to the journaling mailbox specified in the journal rule, it is queued in exchange online for some time. Let's see the steps to set up the recipient to receive non-delivery reports or NDR's. Before setting up a recipient for NDR, make sure that you have provisioned all the required users on the corresponding Vaultastic domain. If a user is not present on Vaultastic, email messages sent from or received to that user will not be archived on Vaultastic. Make sure that you have configured a SMTP mail route to Office 365 to route mail to Vaultastic. First, log on to the domain on the Office 365 portal. Click on the admin title. From the left pane, click on the admin center drop-down. Click on the exchange option. From the left pane, choose the compliance management option. Here you can see different options that are available to us, select the journal rules tab. Click select address to specify NDR email recipient. To specify NDR email recipient on Office 365 domain, click on the browse option. You can see the different mail IDs. Select a mail ID, click on the OK option. Click on the save option. A warning message will display on the screen. Click on the OK option. It says NDR ID will be excluded from journaling and other mail transport rules, so it is recommended to assign a dedicated ID as recipient of NDR. Click OK to acknowledge the message. Thank you for watching the video, in the next step you will learn to configure journal rule for all users of your domain posted on Office 365. Tutorial Transcript: Greetings from Mithi, welcome to a series of self learning videos on understanding and using Vaultastic, the easiest and the most secure email archiving solution yet. In this video, we will learn configuring a journal rule for selected users of your Office 365 domain. Before configuring a journal rule, make sure you have provisioned all the required users on the corresponding Vaultastic domain. If a user is not present on Vaultastic email messages sent from or received to that user will not be archived on Vaultastic. Make sure that you have configured a SMTP mail route to Office 365 to route mail to Vaultastic. Set a recipient ID to receive non-delivery reports or NDR'S. To archive mail for selected users, you need to create a distribution list of Office 365 users for whom journaling needs to be enabled. Close the window as you finish creating the distribution list. Next, let's configure the journal rule to archive mail sent or received by the members of this distribution list. Log on to the Office 365 portal and from the home screen launch the admin center. From the left pane of the admin center, navigate to the exchange admin. From the left menu on the exchange admin interface, select the compliance management option and choose to open the journal rules tab. Click the plus sign to create a journal rule. Office 365 - Domain DNS Setup and Catch All Configure

13:59
Catch all mailbox is a mailbox which receives/catches all the mails sent to non-existent mailbox in an organization. It allows you to receive email sent to your domain that might be misaddressed or misspelled.Even mail sent to email addresses at your domain that don't exist mails will be delivered to catch all mailbox rather than having the email "bounced," or returned to the sender, It can be helpful for the organizations comes up with legal requirement to receive all mails sent to organization irrespective of user mailbox existence. Step : 1 Create a Distribution Group & add all users as members ([email protected]), Better this can be Dynamic Distribution Group, Select an option to Include "All Recipient Types" Create a Dedicated Mailbox to Catch emails, Which sent to non-existent mail address in Org (Here “Catchall” is Catch all mailbox) Set the DomainType to “InternalRelay” (Doing this will make the Rules to take precedence) ECP- Mailflow - AcceptedDomains - Select Domain - Change the type to InternalRelay Step : 2 Create a Mailflow Transport Rule Jump as mentioned below: If the Sender "Outside the Organization" Redirect the message to [email protected] Except if the recipient is member of [email protected] (Distribution Group contains all members) Ensure to validate that new mailboxes are added into Dynamic Distribution Group Note : NDR's won't be generated, Not applicable for Hybrid, Co-Existence, Small business (as no mail-flow rules), Not officially supported by Office365 Support, Test this in Lab before implementing into production. Dynamic Distribution Group is recommended. Link: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/30462.catch-all-mailbox-office365.aspx

Exchange 2010 - CAS Array creation using NLB & Client Access and Hub Transport role installation

13:52
In this part of the Exchange 2010 SP1 installation video, i show you how to install Network Load Balancing (NLB) software built into server 2008 R2 and how to create a CAS Array. After we create the Array, CA and HT roles are installed. If you're installing multiple Client Access servers in one Active Directory site, you can create a Client Access server array. This is a load-balanced group of Client Access server computers that can be accessed through a single URL. Creating a Client Access array reduces the number of fully qualified domain names (FQDN) you need to have on your certificate, and it allows all users in one Active Directory site to access Exchange 2010 through a single URL. After you've completed the installation of your first Client Access server computer, you can start building your Client Access server array. To create a new Client Access server array, run the following command using the Exchange Management Shell. New-ClientAccessArray -FQDN ClientArray.contoso.com -Site "YourSite" -Name "clientarray.contoso.com" There can only be one Client Access array per Active Directory site. After you've created the array, you can manage which Client Access server computers are part of the array through your load balancer configuration.
