In order to find resources on the network, computers need a system to look up the location of resources. Check out http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for more of our always free training videos. This video looks at the DNS records that contain information about resources and services on the network. The client can request these records from a DNS server in order to locate resources like web sites, Active Directory Domains and Mail Servers just to name a few. http://ITFreeTraining.com/handouts/dn... In this video This video will look at the following DNS records: Host (A and AAAA): Contains IP Addresses for IPv4 and IPv6 hosts Alias (CNAME): Works just like a shortcut for files except for DNS records. Mail Exchange (MX): Holds the address of mail servers for that domain. Service Record (SRV): Holds the address of services on the network. E.g. Active Directory DC's. Start of Authority (SOA): Contains information and configuration for a zone file. Name Server (NS): Contain the address of other DNS servers for that zone. Pointer (PTR): Reverse look up record allowing a hostname for an IP Address to be look up. Host (A and AAAA) The host record is used to store the address of a hostname. "A" is used for IPv4 and AAAA (Quad A) for IPv6. These can be created manually in DNS or if dynamic DNS is enabled and the client can register its hostname and thus its IP Address with the DNS server. Alias (CName) A canonical name or CName record provides an alias service in DNS. A CName effectively points to another A or Quad A record. When the client requests the hostname that is contained in the CName, they are given the IP Address that is contained in the A record or Quad A record. The advantage of a CName is that it can provide a simple name to the user rather than a more complex server name. For example, instead of having to remember FS27 for the local file server, a CName of FS could be used to point towards the server FS27. CName's can also be used to transparently redirect network traffic. For example, if you changed you mind and wanted to redirect the user to FS28 you would only need to change the CName record to point to FS28 rather than FS27. It should be remembered that the old record may exist in the client cache and may take some time to expire. Mail Exchange (MX) The mail exchange record contains a mail server that is able to process mail for that domain name. When a mail server wants to deliver mail, it will perform a DNS lookup asking the DNS server for an MX record for that DNS Domain name. The mail server will then attempt to deliver mail to that server. The mail server does not need to have the same DNS name as the mail that is being delivered, it simply needs to understand how to process mail for that DNS domain name. The MX record also has priority value that can be configured. If two or more MX Exchange records exist for the same DNS Doman name, the MX record with the lowest priority will be tried first. If this fails, the MX record with the next lowest value will be tried until the mail is delivered. Often large companies will have multiple mail severs for incoming mail. In some cases, these additional mail servers may be located on different sides of the globe in case there is a long network outage. Service Record (SRV) Service records allow clients on the network to find resources on the network. Active Directory creates a number of service records in DNS to allow clients to find resources like Domain Controllers. This is why Active Directory cannot operate without DNS. A single service record has a number of data fields associated with it. These include, service, target, port and priority. Service records are normally created automatically by applications assuming that your DNS server allows dynamic updates. Start of Authority (SOA) There is one start of authority record (SOA) for each zone. Even though the SOA is technically a DNS record, essentially modification of the SOA record is performed through the properties of the DNS zone. Looking at the data in the SOA record, you can configure options for the zone like the primary name server for that zone (DNS servers that hold the master records for the zone), the e-mail address of an administrator, serial number (Incremented each time a change is made in the DNS zone) and the refresh time for the zone (How often a secondary zone should query a master for changes). Video description to long for YouTube. For full description please see http://itfreetraining.com/70-642/dns-... See http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for our always free training videos. This is only one video from the many free courses available on YouTube. This is the best podcast setup if you want to record in a studio on your own, and will handle remote guests and co-hosts in different locations. A remote co-host and/or guest setup to record in two locations can be a challenge, but not with this gear. Jump to 6:30 if you're here for the remote guests/co-hosts setup. The AudioTechnica ATR2100 and the Zoom H6 handheld recorder is going to be able to handle just about all your needs. Podcasting equipment: Handheld Recorder I use: http://amzn.to/2mknQGj Handheld Recorder I also recommend: https://amzn.to/2U5pvRx Podcast Mic: http://amzn.to/2llZqP6 Boom Stand: http://amzn.to/2mwsRf6 Studio Headphones I Recommend: https://amzn.to/2zVQ2co Audio Cable 3.5mm to ¼ inch: https://amzn.to/2O1qJhr Pop filter: https://amzn.to/2O1nTcl USB A to Type-C for Mac: https://amzn.to/2DUTJTn Equipment for virtual guests or hosts: ATR 2100 XLR cable 3.5mm audio jack to ¼ inch TS Zoom H6 Computer Skype (or similar software) Audacity if you're looking for a software based recording/editing setup: https://www.audacityteam.org/ Steps for recording with guests and co-hosts in two different locations: 1. Plug XLR female into ATR 2100 2. Plug XLR male into channel 1 of Zoom 3. Plug 3.5mm audio jack into headphone input of ATR 2100 4. Plug ¼ inch TS audio jack into channel 2 of Zoom 5. Make certain you’ve pushed channel 1 and 2 buttons on Zoom until they’re illuminated 6. Plug mini USB cable into ATR 2100 7. Plug the other end of the USB (Type A) into the computer 8. Plug in a pair of headphones on the headphone jack of the Zoom (There’s a volume button next to it to increase/decrease the audio out. Mine is set at about 80) 9. Open up audio settings in computer as well as Skype 10. In the drop down menus on your computer make certain to toggle down to ATR as the audio source both in and out 11. Test to make certain that audio levels are going up and down when speaking into the ATR 2100 12. Call your guest or co-host on Skype. The guest/co-host should be able to hear you through the ATR, and you should be able to hear them via channel 2 on the Zoom. Make sure channel 2 is on. 13. Dial in the levels of the Zoom between -12dB and -6dB. Make certain the levels are not clipping (in the red). You may also have to adjust volume out on your computer to make sure you’re not too loud for your guest/co-host. Your computer may adjust this, but this shouldn’t impact the levels going into track 1 of your Zoom. 14. Hit the records button when ready 15. When recording is completed, remove the SD for post production. There should be a folder labeled Zoom 00001 (some like this). Open that folder and it will contain additional folders that will have your tracks in there. Each track should be a separate file. TRS: TRS is the abbreviation for “Tip, Ring, Sleeve.” It looks like a standard 1/4″ or 1/8″ plug but with an extra “ring” on its shaft. TRS cables have two conductors plus a ground (shield). They are commonly used to connect balanced equipment or for running both left and right mono signals to stereo headphones. You will also find TRS connectors on the stem of Y cables. These are used for mixer insert jacks where the signal is sent out through one wire and comes back in through the other. XLR: XLR connectors are 3-pin connectors: positive, negative, and ground. They are usually used for transmitting microphone or balanced line-level signals. In audio, you will typically see XLR cables connecting microphones to mixers and connecting various outputs to powered speakers. TS: TS is the abbreviation for “Tip, Sleeve” and refers to a specific type of 1/4″ or 1/8″ connector that is set up for 2-conductor, unbalanced operation. One insulator ring separates the tip and sleeve. The tip is generally considered the “hot,” or the carrier of the signal, while the sleeve is where the ground or shield is connected. TS cables are best known as guitar or line-level instrument cables. In this Video we will examine the different power restore policies for how the host should power on when the CIMC is rebooted. Whats the importance of this setting: This setting controls what happens to the ESXi host when the CIMC is rebooted. Some times while doing a multi-step upgrade you do not want the ESXi host to power up every time the UCS server is rebooted. On the other hand in a normal operation you would most certainly want this option to power up the Host when the server reboots, this could be useful if there was a power outage. With the settings set to power on the host you do not need to manually power it on.

A DMZ, or demilitarized zone, is used to help improve the security of an organization’s network by segregating devices, such as computers and servers, on the opposite sides of a firewall. And setting up a DMZ in your home router designates a device as a DMZ host and will forward all the ports to that device.

In this version episode of #TechTip I show you how to disable all of the spying features of Windows 10 and get your privacy back. I think Windows 10 is a great operating system once you disable all the data gathering mechanisms and return it back to a pure operating system. UPDATE: Don't use SpyBot Anti-Beacon since it's now payware because of the publicily it received and ShutUp10 is a way better and free option 👍 ▼ Be sure and watch the updated version of this video after Anniversary update ▼ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgKJMsJ-6XU&feature=youtu.be ▼ Windows 10 - We're Watching T-Shirt (limited quantities!) ▼ http://shop.barnnerd.com ▼ Time Indexes ▼ 8:42 - Already have Windows 10 installed, Start here! ▼ Download Spybot Anti Beacon ▼ [DON'T USE ANTI-BEACON, IT'S PAYWARE, USE SHUTUP10 INSTEAD] http://bit.ly/win10shutup ▼ Use the following links to support me & my channel ▼ Donate @ http://bit.ly/helpbarnacules Buy one of my T-Shirts @ http://shop.barnnerd.com Shop Amazon CA @ http://amazonca.barnnerd.com Discount on GT Omega Chairs @ http://bit.ly/1lA4h4K -or- Use code 'NERDGASM' at checkout! ▼ UPDATES ▼ 1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense. 2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem. ▼ Questions & Answers ▼ Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature. A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much? A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation. Q) You should just run Linux! A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street. Q) What is telemetry? A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing. ** Full Disclosure: I worked at Microsoft for 15 years as a Software Developer and was laid off well over a year ago when Microsoft decided to get rid of the entire Windows test organization that I worked in. My goal is educate people on the best way to protect themselves while using Microsoft Windows because I still think it's the best operating system out there and I don't want to see Microsoft ruin that reputation by spying on all it's customers - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRV6PXB6QLk ▼ Support me by sending BitCoin (Wallet Address) ▼ 18Su2PV63BabMZWwYEhgXC8obK1XBVveCp ▼ Get 10% off Kinesis Split Ergonomic Keyboards & Pedals ▼ http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/ [use code 'Barnacules' at checkout to get 10% off] ▼ Join my [email protected] team and help cure diseases with spare CPU/GPU cycles ▼ Barnacules Nerdgasm Team # 231300 Download Client @ http://folding.stanford.edu/ ** Top 10 contributers shown on Twitter weekly! ▼ I am now live streaming on Twitch so come give me a follow to receive notifications when I'm streaming ▼ https://www.twitch.tv/barnacules 💥 See my Amazon Store for all the products I use & review 💥 https://www.amazon.com/shop/barnacules1

This video demonstrates how to network containers on the same host using the bridge driver provided in Docker -- Docker is an open platform for developers and system administrators to build, ship and run distributed applications. With Docker, IT organizations shrink application delivery from months to minutes, frictionlessly move workloads between data centers and the cloud and can achieve up to 20X greater efficiency in their use of computing resources. Inspired by an active community and by transparent, open source innovation, Docker containers have been downloaded more than 700 million times and Docker is used by millions of developers across thousands of the world’s most innovative organizations, including eBay, Baidu, the BBC, Goldman Sachs, Groupon, ING, Yelp, and Spotify. Docker’s rapid adoption has catalyzed an active ecosystem, resulting in more than 180,000 “Dockerized” applications, over 40 Docker-related startups and integration partnerships with AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google, IBM, Microsoft, OpenStack, Rackspace, Red Hat and VMware.

Google Apps for your domain costs for new accounts, and Outlook.com doesn't let you use your own domain anymore, leaving you with few free options to host email on your own domain. But if you have a shared hosting account, chances are you can easily setup your own webmail solution using Roundcube, which is newly out of beta. Here's everything you need to get started with it. Go to your twitch channel when you are not live. 2. In the message box type (No Quotation Marks) "/host" and then the channel name you want to host. In my example I hosted the channel TWiT, so that command would look like "/host TWiT". 3. Press enter to send the message to the chat box. 4. You are now hosting that twitch channel. 5. To stop hosting a channel or unhost on Twitch simply type "/unhost" in to the message box and press enter. 6. You have now hosted a channel on Twitch. Follow the steps below to Auto Host on Twitch: 1. Navigate in Twitch to Settings and then Channel & Videos or go to this URL: https://www.twitch.tv/settings/channel 2. On the Channel & Videos page scroll down to Auto Hosting 3. In the Auto Hosting settings make sure to toggle on all forms of hosting. There are also options for Team Hosting and Vodcast Hosting. 4. Now add channels to the Host List by selecting the + symbol next to Channels to host 5. Find the channel you'd like to host and select Add 6. Once you have a list of channels in your auto host list you can configure their hosting priority by moving them up and down in the host list using the arrows next to their name. The channels on top have higher auto host priority. 7. You have now setup auto hosting on Twitch 😀 HAPPY WITH THE VIDEO? 😀 SUBSCRIBE NOW!
