Scientists Reveal the Exercises That'll Make You Live Longer

08:05
Our body and all its complexity is a treasure that we must take special care of our whole lives. You only get one chance after all! The better you take care of your health, the happier, more comfortable, and longer a life you can lead. Bright Side is inviting you to test your body’s age, and we’ll suggest a few exercises to improve the condition of your health and reverse the hands of time (or an unhealthy lifestyle). TIMESTAMPS Test your body’s age 0:52 Let's see your results 1:49 Improve your flexibility 3:11 The downward dog pose 4:11 The child's pose 4:42 The butterfly pose 5:17 A tush push 5:53 BONUS 6:27 SUMMARY - The first thing we have to do is test your body’s age. We mean the physical capabilities that your body possesses. So if you’re actually 21 years old, but this test reveals to you that your body is more like 38, there are no paradoxes or holes in the universe here; it just means you have some things to work on healthwise. - You can improve your flexibility at any age, so don't get “bent” out of shape (heh heh, get it?). If you work hard enough, you can change your current situation. The easiest thing you can do is bend over and try to touch the floor 30 times a day. Trust us! - By bending at least 30 times a day, you’ll strengthen your ligaments and tendons and improve your flexibility as a result. Yoga stretches are also good for improving flexibility. - You could practice mastering the downward dog pose. (Arf – no not that dog!) The initial position for this stretch is an upside down V-shape with your hands and feet on the ground. After you’ve gotten into position, try to extend your tailbone up and back. - Another great yoga pose that can give you a good stretch is the child's pose. If you're not familiar with it, here's how to do it: start in a kneeling position, and then move your bottom towards your heels and rest your torso on your thighs. - You can also try the butterfly pose to improve your flexibility. It's really simple: just sit down, bend your knees, and bring the soles of your feet together, almost like you’re going to sit criss-cross applesauce but without all the crissing and crossing. Hold onto your ankles, and use your elbows to gently push your knees toward the floor. - A tush push is also a wonderful alternative to getting your flexibility back to the way it was in your younger years. To do it, you have to stand up while keeping your feet as wide apart as possible, so hold onto the back of a chair if need be. - Not that many people know about this, but you can actually exercise your muscles not only from the outside but from the inside as well! And this static gymnastics exercise is going to be a huge help for you in that. Static gymnastics helps eliminate inner muscular spasms, and by doing just one simple exercise, you release tension and enrich your body with oxygen. 5 Bras to Stay Away From and 9 That Are Safe

08:07
80% of women are wearing the wrong sized bra. And even if you’ve got the size right, chances are that your bra's made of materials that are really bad for you! So which bras should you stay far away from and which types are safe? Other videos you might like: 9 BRA TRICKS GIRLS DON'T KNOW ABOUT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V9X7GCh-0g& 10 Exercises to Get Rid of Back and Armpit Fat In 10 Minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXBAq5taLs0& 20 Things Proving That Japan Lives In 3018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulLv5RdavIw& TIMESTAMPS: Bras with poor support 0:35 Ill-fitted bras 1:05 Bras made of 100% synthetic fabrics 2:01 Sticky bras 2:44 Plastic bras 3:27 Full-support bras for larger-chested women 3:59 Front-closure bras 4:25 Sports bras 4:47 Racerback bras 5:19 Push-up bras 5:45 Minimizer bras 6:09 Strapless bras 6:36 Bullet bras 7:03 Convertible bras 7:20 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - If you have a bra that doesn’t hold your chest up properly, the extra weight can cause major back and neck pain since the muscles there have to work overtime trying to keep your breasts up all day. - Whether your bra is way too big or just a little too snug, you can be sure to come across plenty of unpleasant health issues. - Many of your bras and other garments may come from manufacturers that use synthetic fabrics. Unfortunately, a lot of these man-made textiles contain dangerous toxins that can cause serious health problems. - This glue is made with toxin-filled chemicals that aren’t necessarily supposed to sit on your skin for long periods of time. - The plastic material allows for no ventilation whatsoever, which (you should know by now) means rashes and irritations galore! - If you have a larger chest, good even support is key. So, obviously, full-support bras are the way to go here! - Front-clasp bras open and close from the front instead of the back, hence the name! While this feature offers no benefits health-wise, it’s a little easier to take on. - Sports bras keep everything in place during excessive movement, which can prevent sagging in the future. - Racerback bras, when they’re the right size, not only provide great support, but their straps are also perfectly hidden under a cute racerback shirt. - Push-up bras have an extra layer of padding in the bottom half of the cup. This padding gives your breasts a nice lift and boosted support since they hug close to your body. - And if you’re going for the opposite effect of a push-up – that is, a SMALLER look to the breasts – then you’ll want a minimizer bra. - Strapless bras are usually better for smaller to medium-sized breasts given that they provide minimal support. - Bullet bras were the norm back in the ‘40s and ‘50s, and they were made to give the breasts a pointier shape. - Convertible bras allow you to get multiple styles in just one bra. Whether you’re wearing a halter top, a plain ol’ tee, or a racerback, convertible bras let you manipulate the straps to match whatever style you’re going for. Drink a Glass of Coconut Water for 2 Weeks, See What Happens to Your Body

09:30
Once upon a time, coconut water was only to be found in health stores. Now, this drink is so mainstream that it can be purchased from almost every grocery store. If you’re in the habit of chugging down a sports drink before or after working out, then here’s a better option for you! Sports drinks are usually packed with sugar, but you can find coconut water with a very low sugar content and get the same benefits that you would from a sports drink. Coconut water is designed to replenish the nutrients lost from sweating and physical exertion. TIMESTAMPS: It’s a good source of potassium 0:43 It’s a better choice than a sports drink 1:28 It packs a ton of electrolytes 2:02 It acts as a diuretic 3:00 It has antibacterial properties 3:34 It keeps your heart healthy 4:17 It can help you keep hydrated 5:14 Negative side effects 6:00 #coconutwater #helthydiet Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - One cup of coconut water contains about 17% of the recommended daily intake, making it a great source of potassium. - If you have diarrhea, are vomiting, sweat too much, or simply have an inadequate diet that doesn’t give you your minerals, you could suffer from an electrolyte imbalance...but not if you drink coconut water every day! - It also helps to cleanse the urinary tract, thus reducing your chances of getting a urinary tract infection. - Coconut water carries tannins, which are phytochemical components known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects. - According to a 2014 report in the journal Stroke, potassium can “ward off stroke and prevent early death in women.” - Coconut water shouldn’t replace regular water but should be used to keep you even more hydrated. - If you drink 2 large bottles, you’d be getting almost all of your sodium intake just from that drink. - Coconut water isn’t going to be good for you if it’s packed with sugar and adds to your calories. - Drinking it every day can definitely put you over your recommended daily calorie intake. - Be careful not to confuse coconut water with coconut milk! They’re both delicious, but coconut milk is extremely high in coconut fat and should be drunk as an occasional treat to maintain a healthy weight. I wrote a recent newspaper column about all sorts of recovery trends (or fads) that pro athletes and weekend warriors are trying to help their performance. In this video, I discuss 3 keys changes that will help you perform better as you get older. http://challenge.drdavidgeier.com/ds/906ca4c8 I want to help you! Please click the link above and take a few seconds to share the biggest challenge or struggle you’re facing with your injury! https://drdavidgeier.com/perform-better-as-you-get-older Click the link above for more information about performing better as you get older and other resources to stay healthy and perform your best. Get That Doesn't Have To Hurt FREE! This eBook offers tips that you can take to avoid injuries and perform your best! Plus, learn tips to keep your children safe in sports. http://www.sportsmedicinesimplified.com/that-doesnt-have-to-hurt-ebook Please note: I don't respond to questions and requests for specific medical advice left in the comments to my videos. I receive too many to keep up (several hundred per week), and legally I can't offer specific medical advice to people who aren't my patients (see below). If you want to ask a question about a specific injury you have, leave it in the comments below, and I might answer it in an upcoming Ask Dr. Geier video. If you need more detailed information on your injury, go to my Resources page: https://www.drdavidgeier.com/resources/ The content of this YouTube Channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/drdavidgeier (“Channel”) is for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. OPTIMIZE YOUR RECOVERY Whether or not you try the more radical steps I mentioned in previous articles, like whole body cryotherapy or vibrating spheres for muscle pliability, there are some more basic tools you can use to recover from your workouts and training. Ice, ice baths or cold showers, regular massage, stretching, using a foam roller after the workout are all thought to be beneficial. And don’t forget to get plenty of sleep, the best recovery tool. TRAIN MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY TO PERFORM BETTER Spending hours in the gym as you hit your 40s, 50s and higher can start to take a toll on your bodies. Rather than just mindlessly flailing away with the weights, know exactly what you want to get out of each workout. Work out smarter, not harder. And add other types of exercise and movements to cross train but improve in areas you don’t get from your primary exercise. Maybe add yoga for balance and flexibility. Pilates, CrossFit, and many other programs can make you a more well-rounded athlete. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BREAKTHROUGHS IN SPORTS MEDICINE You don’t have much ability to develop a new surgery or rehab technique if you don’t work in sports medicine. But you can take advantage of these breakthroughs. See a sports medicine doctor or surgeon for any injuries or nagging pain. Work with a physical therapist to improve problem issues. And consider biologic treatments, like PRP or stem cells, as treatment options for cartilage damage or injured tendons or muscles.

8 Tricks to Sleep Better According to Athletes

08:05
Do you have any sleep troubles? World-famous athletes owe a lot of their success not only to their intense training but also to their sleep coaches! That's right, getting proper sleep is crucial for their performance, and they can certainly teach us all a thing or two about it. For example, even if you don’t consider yourself a necessarily light sleeper, experts still recommend using earplugs. It’s often unexpected minor noises that interrupt our sleep and lower its quality, so a simple pair of earplugs can really come in handy. When choosing earplugs, remember to check their noise reduction rating. If you want them to block most sounds, go for the highest rating there is, which is 39 decibels. TIMESTAMPS: Set a schedule based on sleep cycles 0:47 Try to sleep on your side or back 1:50 Set the appropriate temperature in your room 3:02 Invest in good bedding 3:36 Make your bedroom as dark as possible 4:24 Eat the right food 5:07 Use earplugs 6:11 Resolve your stress 6:51 #sleepproblems #insomnia #goodsleep Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Sleep is usually measured in 1.5-hour cycles because that’s how much time your body needs to pass through all stages of sleep and restore itself completely. The best solution for adults is to sleep for at least 5 cycles through the night, which equals 7½ hours of rest. - Sleeping on your right side is one of the best sleep positions for your heart. It improves cardiac performance, reduces shortness of breath and palpitations, and lowers your heart rate. - The National Sleep Foundation suggests keeping your bedroom temperature at about 60-67°F. That’s because our body temperature naturally decreases to initiate sleep, and this room temperature range helps boost this important process. - The National Sleep Foundation reminds us that most mattresses have a lifespan of 8 years. If yours is much older than that, you should definitely start looking for a replacement. - Turn off the lights, close your curtains, and try to cover up all illuminated displays and buttons on your electronic devices. Achieving as much darkness as possible will help you successfully go through all stages of sleep and wake up feeling fresh as a daisy! - When you consume caffeine or fatty dishes that are high in sugar, your body temperature rises since it takes a long time for your system to digest that stuff. Of course, a higher body temperature is not what you want when it comes to sleeping. - No matter how great your mattress and pillow are, if you're feeling worried or stressed, you won't be able to sleep. So the solution is simple: try to calm down and relax before going to bed. One of the best ones is meditation! 11 Mistakes Everyone Make When Trying to Eat Healthy

11:01
Why can't you lose weight? You abstain from potato chips, ice cream, fast food, soda, cake, and even pizza. Your new menu consists of all the fitness guru essentials. Unfortunately, you still haven’t lost an inch around your waist! So what’s the deal here? Are you doing something wrong? Perhaps the problem is in these 11 all-too common dieting mistakes that even the biggest health nuts are guilty of! TIMESTAMPS: Choosing organic products 1:09 Going gluten-free 2:11 Buying low-fat products 3:19 Drinking fruit juices 4:18 Eating energy bars 5:10 Preferring dried fruits over whole ones 6:00 Choosing eggs with a brown shell 6:41 Drinking sports drinks 7:27 Buying imported products 8:27 Eating granola 9:10 Cutting food intake without counting calories 9:46 #healthyfood #dietmistakes Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - When growing organic products, farmers don’t use synthetic pesticides. Instead, they’re replaced with natural pesticides, the side effects of which haven’t really been studied thoroughly. - According to the latest research, abstaining from whole grains, which are full of gluten, increases a person’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease. - Our bodies actually do need fat, and excluding it from your diet is only recommend for real medical reasons. In all other cases, simply cutting down on your fat intake and being smart about what kinds of fats you consume will be enough. - If it contains the word “fruit” in it, how could drinking fruit juices possibly be bad for you? Well, this type of drink contains loads of sugar and calories. Plus, they don’t have any dietary fiber. - Most bars contain sugar, chocolate glaze, caramel, artificial flavors, and other additives. They’re no different from ordinary sweets when it comes to sugar content, while the amount of calories in them equals a full-fledged meal! - Sports drinks, like a lot of the items on this list, contain tons of sugar, corn syrup, artificial food additives, and colorants. - The hype around granola has been created mostly by marketing experts. Sure, it’s got fiber and iron, but granola also contains a lot of sugar and some not-so-healthy oils that definitely aren’t gonna help you achieve your dream bod. Processed Food Documentary - Processed Food vs. Nutritional Needs

33:36
Processed Food Documentary: Processed Food vs. Nutritional Needs. The human body runs on food. Once, food shortage was the major concern. After the second world war, technological advances in food production led to a new era, that was characterized by an overabundance of inexpensive food, and relatively little physical activity. In the decades that followed, other sociocultural shifts continued to contribute to the changing way we ate. Women who had previously controlled most of the average family's food preparation now entered the workforce in significant numbers. And the processed food industry began to capitalize on our need for fast, convenient food. This meant that fewer meals were being cooked at home. And since convenience foods were generally higher in calories than home-cooked meals, the average person's caloric intake increased dramatically. Maya Adam, MD, is waging a battle cry against one of America’s most critical – and challenging – public health crises of our generation: childhood obesity. A lecturer at Stanford School of Medicine and in Stanford University’s human biology program, she is leading the cause through education. As always, use this info to gather more info. Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health? | Bailey Parnell | TEDxRyersonU

14:45
Scrolling through our social media feeds feels like a harmless part of our daily lives. But is it actually as harmless at seems? According to social media expert Bailey Parnell, our growing and unchecked obsession with social media has unintended long term consequences on our mental health. As social media continues to become part of the fabric of modern life – the “digital layer” – abstinence is becoming less of an option. Bailey think it’s high time we learned to practice safe social before it’s too late. What are the common triggers? How are they affecting you over time? How can you create a more positive experience online? Bailey covers this and more in “Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health?” Bailey Parnell was recently named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She is an award-winning digital marketer, public speaker and businesswoman with a talent for helping people tell better stories. Her work and expertise have been featured on CBC, CTV & in other local Toronto media. Bailey recently founded SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company where they help people develop the essential skills needed for professional success. She also currently works in digital marketing at Ryerson University. Bailey is a frequent public speaker having spoken to more than 10 thousand people. She primarily speaks about social media, personal branding, and media and mental health. She guest lectured her first MBA class at 21-years-old and has been the youngest speaker as multiple academic conferences. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Communication and Culture with a research focus on social media and mental health, and holds an honours BA from the RTA School of Media at Ryerson. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

Why Top Athletes Only Eat One Meal a Day

08:00
Fighter Fuel Coffee on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2BLOtfk Website: https://primedlifestyle.com/ Instagram: Primed Some of the greatest athletes and prolific achievers of this generation has one unusual trait that most people would consider outright stupid. They only eat one meal a day. Now before you start commenting about how bad and dangerous this is, just hear me out first because I have some rather shocking information that these great achievers are using to their advantage. Eating one meal a day is a disaster for unhealthy food corporations and pharmaceutical industries because they’ll go bankrupt if the majority of people followed this advice. While at the same time dramatically enhance your cognitive function along with physical well being. So in this video I’ll show you why everything you thought you knew about food is wrong, and why top athletes and high achievers only eat one meal a day. This kind of eating is an extended type of intermittent fasting where they consume calories for about an hour a day and fast for the remaining 23 hours, and they usually eat in the evening. That means no breakfast, no lunch and no eating before working out. But don’t you need to eat before working out to have good results? Well not really. It might make you feel better since you’re used to it but it’s definitely not required. Now granted this type of diet is not for everyone but you might want to give it a go since it has some crazy benefits and some of greatest athletes are doing it. Ronda Rousey is or was doing the OMAD diet when she was competing at her peak when she absolutely destroyed her competition in both Strikeforce and the UFC. After becoming the first female american to get an olympic medal in Judo in 2008 she went on to dominate MMA for a number of years. And she explains one of her secrets for her huge success in an interview with MMA Mania. She says: "It's kind of a combination of The Paleo and The Warrior diet. I pretty much eat one meal a day - which takes place at night... There is one exception to all of this each day: I get to have coffee every morning. She continues to say that she she can get more out her training on an empty stomach than she would on a full stomach. Another top athlete that follows the OMAD diet is Kohei Uchimura, a seven-time olympic medalist, 19-time world medalist and by many considered to be the greatest gymnast of all time. He recently also revealed that he only eats one time per day which came as huge surprise for most people. Before he gets to destroy his first and only meal of the day he has worked out not once but two times already. Another advantage having an empty stomach is that it he doesn’t get sick from all the spinning and flipping he does, and he says that he feels like he’s in a good state training on an empty stomach. The same goes for Gen. Stanley McChrystal who was special operations commander and also overseeing NATO forces in afghanistan. He thinks It’s extremely convenient to not have to cook and eat several meals a day and it keeps him in peak physical condition. Eating one meal a day can also dramatically enhances the cognitive function and mental clarity because in that fasted state, it forces the brain to get its fuel from ketone bodies in a process called gluconeogenesis, and happens when other energy sources are depleted. Ketones are actually the prefered source of energy for both the brain and body and can make your brain run up to 70 % more efficiently than on blood sugar and glucose. If you want to know more about this you can watch my video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asM02Vu19hw And to cite one study “intermittent fasting has crucial effects on physical and intellectual performance by affecting various aspects of bodily physiology and biochemistry that could be important for athletic success." Changes in BDNF did not correlate with VO2max during the GXT, but they did correlate with changes in lactate Cold Water Therapy When exposed to cold showers, the sympathetic nervous system is activated, and the blood levels of beta-endorphin and noradrenaline is increased Norepinephrine, an organic chemical that functions in the brain and body as a hormone that can help people feel happier, naturally is released in the brain as well The cold water can also increase production of beta endorphins, or ‘feel good’ molecules that will give you a sense of wellbeing Additionally, due to the high density of cold receptors in the skin, a cold shower sends an overwhelming amount of electrical impulses from peripheral nerve endings to the brain, which explains the immediate mood-lifting effect of immersion in cold showers is probably The electrical impulses from peripheral nerve endings to the brain stimulates the dopaminergic transmission in the mesocorticolimbic and nigrostriatal pathway References 1) Inflammatory Cytokines and BDNF Response to High-Intensity Intermittent Exercise: Effect the Exercise Volume. Sports Nutrition Myth - Egg Cholesterol

00:54
For more details about sports nutrition, training and motivation, visit http://visportsnutrition.ca Sports Nutrition Myth #5: Eating eggs will raise your cholesterol. This myth began because egg yolks have the most concentrated amount of cholesterol of any food. However, there's not enough cholesterol there to pose health risks if eggs are eaten in moderation. Studies suggest that eating one egg per day will not raise cholesterol levels and that eggs are actually a great source of nutrients. Research has questioned the connection between cardiovascular disease and egg consumption. A study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition indicated that the risk of cardiovascular disease in men and women was not affected by increasing the consumption of eggs. In fact, it actually showed the opposite. They analyzed more than 27,000 subjects and their findings indicated that egg consumers had lower serum cholesterol levels than those individuals who did not eat eggs at all. Eggs contain a number of heart healthy nutrients like omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, folate, vitamins E and B12, and antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which are important for good eye health. Eggs also contain iron, phosphorus, zinc and vitamin D and A. We know that one egg has five grams of fat with 1.5 grams of saturated fat and 3.5 grams of healthy unsaturated fat. Eggs are an excellent source of choline. Recent research indicates that choline is an essential nutrient which is needed for cells to function normally. It is really important for proper brain, liver, and nerve function, as well as memory and transportation of nutrients around the body. Sports nutrition has become an ever more important part of the training cycle of youth athletes. Boost Metabolism: Steamroom vs. Sauna - Which is Better? - Thomas DeLauer

07:32
Boost Metabolism: Sauna vs. Steam Room- Which is better? Find out how to elevate your mood, boost your metabolism, detoxify your body and reduce muscle stiffness. Learn this and more at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com You may have heard discussion around the benefits of the sauna and the steam room, but is one better for you than another? There is only so much time in the day to spend at the gym, so we want to be sure to get the most out of what we do in the least amount of time. Saunas have been around for thousands of years. Finland has a sauna tradition that has been around for two thousand years strong, and many attribute their endurance and longevity to the time they spend in the sauna. Saunas and steam rooms are touted to induce mental and physical relaxation, and both induce large amounts of sweating, which has health benefits such as releasing toxins from the body. So where does the difference lie? Saunas are dry heat whereas steam rooms are at 100% humidity. One of the biggest differences has to do with temperature - when a room is humid we feel as though it is hotter than it actually is. Due to this, saunas are able to be kept at a much higher temperature than steam rooms. Saunas range from 160 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, wheres steam rooms are at 110 to 120. In order to understand how these differences would lead to the best option of the two, we must first understand the benefits of both saunas and steam rooms. Benefit 1: Increased blood flow Blood vessels enlarge when your body temperature rises, allowing increased delivery of oxygen and nutrients throughout your body. After particularly vigorous exercise, try to get 15-30 minutes in the sauna or steam room to reap the benefits of this increased nutrient and oxygen delivery to your muscles. The increased blood flow allows an acceleration of tissue repair post workout. The faster you heal the better you feel and more able you are to take your next workout to a higher level. Benefit 2: Increased metabolism and physical endurance Increase the temperature and you will increase your metabolism, which is simply how quickly your body burns calories, due to this heat. Your body works harder to try and keep itself cool, thereby burning calories at a higher rate. Benefit 3: Inflammation Exposure to the high heat results in a release of noradrenaline, adrenaline and cortisol, which all have anti-inflammatory properties. This can help in mobility and pain, temporarily relieving stiffness post workout. Many people suffering with arthritis have reported relief after spending time in the sauna or steam room. Benefit 4: Sweating Sweating helps to lower blood pressure by secreting salts, detoxify by expelling toxins through our pores and helps to increase caloric expenditure. Benefit 5: Mood We are all familiar with the pleasant mood that you feel after going to the sauna or steam room. People report feeling less anxiety, increased relaxation, improved general mood and even increased alertness after trips to the sauna and steamroom. Why does this happen? 1. Today's Chiropractic HealthNews For You - How Vigorous Exercise Effects A Healthy Heart

We bring you the latest news from the world of Chiropractic, Metabolic Typing, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Vigorous Exercise Won't Hurt a Healthy Heart Welcome to another HealthNews video news release brought to you by HealthNews. In today’s news we look at how vigorous exercise effects a healthy heart. Some recent research articles have been warning people not to exercise too long or too hard; however, scientific and epidemiological evidence shows the contrary. In fact, vigorous exercise has been shown to strengthen a healthy heart and helps to prevent heart disease. Master athletes who compete in endurance sports have more plaques in their arteries than men of the same age who do not exercise, but the type of plaques are far less likely to break off and cause heart attacks. Older athletes in endurance sports are at an increased risk for developing atrial fibrillation, in which the upper part of the heart starts to beat irregularly, however, most of these athletes were healthy and had no obvious problems with their hearts. The fact is exercisers live longer and have far less heart damage than non-exercisers. However, if you want to start or increase the intensity or duration of your exercise program, have questions about your health, have any specific medical conditions or have heart attack risk factors, check with your doctor first. Remember your best source for everything health is your chiropractor. Visit your chiropractor regularly and make sure your nervous system is functioning 100%.
