Omron B5W LD0101 Air Quality Sensor | Tech Specs
View full article: https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/new-industry-products/omron-b5w-ld0101-air-quality-sensor-tech-specs/ Omron’s B5W-LD0101 is a high precision air quality sensor that can detect particles as small as 0.5 µm, for more accurate sensing of the 2.5µm standard for fine inhalable particles. The sensor uses a unique flow path structure and integrated heater that efficiently generates stable airflow through the sensor, up to six times the airflow of competitors, providing consistent, accurate results. Particles scatter light between an LED and photodetector, and the sensor uses two integrated signal processing units, each for a pulse output, one is to indicate detected particles larger than 0.5 µm and another for particles larger than 2.5 µm. The sensor features a slim optical design and a compact package to simplify installation and is ideal for use in air purifiers, air conditioners, and HVAC systems. Air Pollution Advice 1947
Clipped from the 1947 animation short, Modern Guide to Health, promoting general health awareness, from the British government. In 1952, a sulfur-laden smog covered London and was responsible for 4,000 deaths over a two-week period. Dr David Bates was there and recalls this tragedy in an article at http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0CYP/is_12_110/ai_98539833 Dr. Devra L. Davis has researched and written about the October 1948 air pollution tragedy in Donora, Pennsylvania, USA, her hometown. People literally asphyxiated. In a 12-hour period, 18 people died.. Within a month, about 70 people had died. Link to http://www.jhu.edu/jhumag/0603web/smoke.html for more detail.

Courts v/s Air Pollution: Legally Speaking
Judicial Activism by courts since 1993 has nudged the executive into action to take steps to curb air pollution, be it the introduction of CNG buses, orders on stubble burning or banning old polluting vehicles. As such courts are forced to step in when executive not only fails, but abjectly fails to do its duty. This episode discusses how courts have showed the way to curb air pollution which has tremendously benefitted the 4.5 per cent of India's population living in National Capital Region where the problem of air pollution is acute. How courts are forced to intervene in a state of public health emergency. Why don't court and NGT orders get implemented? When courts and legislature don't take effective steps to curb air pollution, then people have a Right to Life and courts intervene for benefit of all. The Day of a Calendar Year on Which an Article Ceases to Be of Quality
The expert of craftsmanship relating to robotics and machinery and the trained military person responsible for providing medical care to his associates collectively come across a ghastly, disconcerting revelation following a routine analysis of the momentary displacement apparatus. In the interim, the entrepreneur of battlefield exploration ceases to provide the connoisseur of sensory shapeshifting and restricted information procurement with disrespectful comments for a sufficient amount of time for the former to request the latter for assistance in the matters of a humiliating conondrum; the female executive superintendent's apprentice, whom, aside from conducting labor within the office also simultaneously functions as a person in charge of converting the premises into an imacculate condition, as well as being in the overall responsibility to professionally provide certain individuals with the permanent discontinuance of all their vital life functions, Pauling the Unwed, is engaged in a competition against the passage of time to deposit certain compromising cadavers under an accumulation of soil; lastly, the military frontline combatant makes himself a companion out of a cylindrical steel pail. Japanese Quality of Life: My Family's Experience in Tokyo
I often get asked "How's Life in Japan?" What I think they're really asking is what is the quality of life like. I live in Tokyo, the biggest metropolitan area in the world. It's got to be a hectic life, right? The easiest answer I can give is "I bought a house". There's a lot that factors into quality of life: health, family, education, environment, social belonging, recreation and leisure time, and a bunch of financial stuff that influences the cost and standard of living. If you enjoy content like this, please consider supporting on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/lifewhereimfrom. Thanks! Evaluating the Impact of Ammonia Emissions from Equine Operations on the Environment Jessie Weir
In the United States, animal agriculture is the largest source of ammonia (NH3) emissions that are a major air and water pollutant contributing to eutrophication, soil acidity, and aerosol formation that can impair atmospheric visibility and human health. Ammonia volatilization occurs when excess crude protein (CP) is fed and excreted as urinary nitrogen, primarily as urea. Information regarding NH3 emissions from equine operations is limited. It is generally understood that air quality in stables can adversely affect both horse and human health, however, the effects of different housing systems and nutritional management of horses on air quality have received little investigation. How to Build Backlinks Without Paying for Them
Look, if you want to rank on Google you need backlinks. We all know this, it's hard, and that's why a lot of people pay for them, but you shouldn't pay for them. Paying for them is against Google's policy, it's a great way to get your site banned, it's short term, it's one of the silliest things you can do. So, if you don't pay for them how can you get them? Today I'm going to share with you how you can build backlinks without paying for them. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________ Why The Links You’re Building Don’t Bring You Any Traffic [video]: https://youtu.be/pymmd-3Hrvw ____________________________________________ Here's how you do it. Step one, I want you to head over to Backlinks, it's a free link building tool that I created for you. Go to neilpatel.com/backlinks and in the search bar put in your competitor URL, it'll show you all the people that link to your competitors. Within there I want you to search for the pages that they have that are the most popular. It'll show you that, you can see all the links, all the links that people are pointing to other than their home page. And through the Backlink's report you can also see that, you can see the backlink count for the whole domain, a specific URL, and when you find the right articles that competition's going after, you want to look at the backlink count for that URL. Now, if you're struggling to find really good pages, another easy thing you can do is when you're already in the Backlink's report, in the side bar click on top pages, it'll show you the top pages that your competitors are writing on, look at the ones that are most similar to you and you can also click the backlinks button there, it'll show you every single person that's linking to that article. Second step, whatever that article is that your competitors wrote that's similar or related to your industry, I want you to write a better version of that article. You know, if it's 1,000 words I want you to make it 5,000 words. Yes, I know that sounds crazy, requires a lot of work, but go in depth. And I'm not talking about just shoving in keywords and making it long for the sake of it. I'm talking about great amazing content. Well, when I'm saying write amazing content, I want you to do things like talk about, if you're going to write on how to make pizza, break down everything to, how do you pick the vegetables. Organic versus ones with pesticides. Do you need to drain out the water from the vegetables when you're cutting them up? What's the right length to cut your cucumbers? All the way to, how the water quality changes the taste of your dough. Do you use bottled water? Do you use tap water? And then how do you put your toppings? How do you cut it? What kind of fork and knife do you use to cut a pizza? Do you use that circular roller thing? I don't know how to cook because I'm not a cook, but you get the point. If that's how you make a pizza I just want super in depth, and I would try to go even more in depth than that. I would also include GIFs, animated with images showing like the process of making the dough and spreading it out and tossing it in the air and then catching it and then my wife getting mad at me for making a mess in the kitchen. Again, I don't cook but I would be a fun experiment, why not try it out? So, you would do all these things, and making it super detailed is how you create better content than other people. Whether it's images, videos that you also want to add to your articles. Whether it's having a custom designer go in there and create graphics for you, all that adds up. You want your content to be better. This is the most important part in this step. It's not using my Backlinks tool, you can use anyone else's tool if you want, mine's just free. It's nothing else. This step, the second one, is the most important. Now, the last step you need to take, you need to email out everyone linking to your competition and break down why your article's better. But the real key is to do custom emails. Here are three other things that I break down that helps people get an index. And these three things are really easy, they can do that in two minutes. This other thing takes seven minutes but combined they're going to get a much better success ratio. Most of it is manual labor on your end, and that's why a lot of people don't have links. It's because they don't want to take the time to build all those links, it's just so time-consuming. With you, if you're willing to do that, you'll outpace your competition, rank higher, and gobble up their traffic. ► If you need help growing your business check out my ad agency Neil Patel Digital @ https://neilpateldigital.com/ ►Subscribe: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc to learn more secret SEO tips. ►Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ https://youtu.be/MjO8lIQ68-8 #SEO #NeilPatel #DigitalMarketing

Kim Fortun - New Faculty Fall 2017
Kim Fortun, professor and new department chair in anthropology, studies environmental risk and disaster. She uses experimental ethnographic methods to understand how people in different geographic regions and organizations deal with environmental problems, health risks and major disasters. She’s particularly focused on industrial disasters – chemical plant explosions and massive breakdown of industrial systems. Her fieldwork has spanned highly populated regions in India and the United States where she’s focused on both catastrophic disasters and more recently on slower moving disasters, including air pollution. Through research, she’s found that that air pollution - recognized as a major killer of people worldwide - has reached catastrophic proportions in India and is responsible for a growing number of health concerns. She’s currently working on a National Science Foundation-funded study that’s comparing air pollution governance in 11 cities – 5 in the U.S., 5 in India, and Beijing, China. Together with her husband and new anthropology associate professor Michael Fortun, they’ve found that scientific research on the sources and health impacts of air pollution has consolidated impressively in recent decades, showing that air pollution is not only responsible for a host of respiratory ailments, but may also contribute to conditions like Alzheimer’s and diabetes. New understanding of the significance of air pollution has also transformed approaches to public health, challenging governments at municipal, state, regional and national levels as well as organizations like the World Health Organization. Fortun is widely recognized for her work on both fast and slow disaster. Her first book, Advocacy After Bhopal: Environmental, Disaster, New Global Orders, received the American Ethnological Society’s biannual Sharon Stephens Prize for its ability to speak to contemporary social issues with relevance beyond the discipline and academia. She’s used technology to create three digital research platforms that share work with other academics and the public on environmental disaster preparedness and response, air quality crisis and epidemic incidence of asthma, and ethnographic research. She’s authored more than 40 essays and articles that have been featured in Big Data and Society, Journal of Ethnographic Theory, Cultural Anthropology, and Dialectic Anthropology, to name a few. She is currently the president-elect of the Society for Social Studies of Science. Fortun comes to UCI from a 24-year run as a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. For the past year, she chaired the Department of Science and Technology Studies there and from 2001-04, was associate dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. Prior to her professorial post, she completed a Rockefeller Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell. Fortun received her Ph.D. in anthropology from Rice University, and as a new member of the UCI anthropology faculty, she’ll be joining a number of Rice alumni. She’s excited to be coming into a community of colleagues she’s known for a long time and into a department she’s long considered the most innovative in the country.

Hi, I’m JPSS! I’m a high-tech weather satellite that orbits our planet. I do something called a polar orbit. I circle the Earth from North Pole to South Pole, over and over, while the Earth spins. While I do that, I get lots of information about what’s going on around the globe. I watch storms, clouds, snow and rain. I take the temperature of the ocean, measure air quality, ozone health, and take pictures of the land and sea. This information is used for all kinds of things. It helps us take care of our coasts and all the amazing things that live there. It helps us monitor harmful weather events—like floods and droughts—and measure the health of the environment. Most importantly, it helps us predict weather three to seven days in the future. That means I can be a big help ahead of storms, where future warnings are important. I send information to the National Weather Service. They use the information to create forecasts. The forecasts are shared with people all over the country to help prepare for weather emergencies. So look to the sky and wave. I’ll be flying by! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Professor Anne Steinemann November Luncheon 2017
Hidden hazards in everyday products and indoor environments Contrary to popular belief, most of our exposure to hazardous pollutants occurs in places we consider safe like indoor environments, such as homes, schools, and workplaces. Primary sources of these pollutants are also considered safe, such as everyday consumer products, such as cleaning supplies, air fresheners, and personal care products. However, indoor air environments are generally unregulated, and consumer products are not required to disclose all ingredients. Even so-called ‘green’ products can emit hazardous pollutants, similar to regular products. Professor Anne Steinemann will discuss the hidden hazards in our consumer products and indoor environments, and offer practical solutions. Anne Steinemann is Professor of Civil Engineering and Chair of Sustainable Cities, Department of Infrastructure Engineering at The Melbourne School of Engineering. She is internationally recognised for her research on indoor air quality, consumer product emissions, and exposure assessment. Professor Steinemann serves as adviser to governments and industries around the world, and her work has resulted in new federal and state legislation, agency policies, and industry practices. In addition to academic recognition, Professor Steinemann’s research and journal articles have received significant international media coverage, spanning more than 1,000 major newspapers, magazines, and broadcast stations across six continents. Before coming to Australia, Professor Steinemann was Program Manager at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego; Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Professor of Public Affairs, at the University of Washington; and Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.
