One of the factors that make up your Ad Rank is your bid, so your bidding strategy is the bidding method you choose for your Google AdWords advertising campaign. You set-up a bidding strategy for Search, Display, Shopping, and Video campaigns, and generally your strategy will be to drive conversions, conversion value, clicks, impressions, video views, or engagement. What are the different types of bid strategies available on Google Ads? We go through this question below by answering all the different options and strategies you can utilize for your search, display, and video campaigns. Create a portfolio bid strategy, or see the performance of an existing bid strategy. How do I change the bid strategy on Google ads? You can change the bid strategy through campaign settings, or you can use portfolio bidding strategies and apply them to your campaign. What are automatic bidding strategies? Automatic bidding strategies allow you to create your campaign, create your ad groups, target keywords, and create advertisements without worrying about bidding on them. Google Ads will automatically optimize your bids with certain bid strategies, sometimes referred to as Smart Bidding strategies or Automated Bidding Strategies. Some of these include Target ROAS, Target CPA, Maximize Conversions, Maximize Clicks, and more. What are the automated optimization strategies available on AdWords? Bidding Strategy Adwords - Target ROAS - Part 7 (in Hindi) In this video, I will be explaining about Target ROAS bidding in Google Ads, why you should use this & how to use Target ROAS bidding on Google Adwords. Target ROAS lets you bid based on a target return on ad spend (ROAS). This Google Ads Smart Bidding strategy helps you get more conversion value or revenue at the target return-on-ad-spend (ROAS) you set. Target ROAS is an automated bid strategy, So AdWords will automatically adjust your bids. Target ROAS is available as either a standard strategy for a single campaign or a portfolio strategy across multiple campaigns. You’ll need to set values for the conversions you're tracking. ROAS Formula Return on Ad Spend = Revenue / Ad Spend x 100 Like if you spend $15 ad and it generated $120 in revenue, your ROAS $120/$15 x100 = 800% To use Target ROAS bidding for Search and Display, your campaign must have at least 15 conversions in the past 30 days. For Shopping campaigns, you need at least 20 conversions in the past 45 days For App Campaigns, you'll need at least 10 conversions every day (or 300 conversions in 30 days). In paid search advertising, impression share is a measurement of how often your ads are showing up when someone types in a relevant search query. So, if your ad is in position 1.0 for every relevant search and you have an infinite budget, your ad would have a 100% impression share. How it works Target Impression Share bidding automatically sets bids to help achieve your Impression Share goal across all campaigns using this strategy. Impression Share only includes the Google Search Network. Target Impression Share is a Smart Bidding strategy and can be used as a standard strategy in a single campaign or as a portfolio strategy across multiple campaigns. Target impression share is set at the campaign level with setting up a bid limit. Why you should target impression share bidding - if your goal is to increase visibility and brand awareness. Viewability is measured by the Active View technology on Display Network websites. An ad is counted as "viewable" when 50 percent of your ad shows onscreen for one second or longer for display ads, and two seconds or longer for video ads. What is Active View? Active View is a technology on YouTube and certain Display Network websites and mobile apps that allows AdWords to determine if your ad is viewable by potential customers. Active View-enabled websites allow you to use a viewable CPM bid for display campaigns, to set a different bid amount for impressions on sites where the ad appears in a viewable position. Active View can tell you when ads are viewable, but it can’t guarantee that a user is looking at the screen at that time. Benefits of CPM Bidding Pay only for impressions measured as viewable. We started by setting up the Google Ads account, which was a common question we received from our previous tutorial. We set-up a brand new account for our website. You also need to make sure you set-up a Google Analytics account for your website as well, which is a very simple process. Once you have your Google AdWords and Google Analytics accounts created, you want to link them through the Linked Accounts button under the Google Ads Tools button at the top. Once you have your accounts linked, you will have Auto-Tagging enabled in Google Ads, which allows you to track your campaigns in Google Analytics. Next, we go over conversion tracking. You first need to create Goals and Conversion Goals in your Google Analytics account. You can create ecommerce goals or create goals based on several other factors. For example, you can track forms, video views, giveaway submissions, transactions, and more. Once you have Goals created in Google Analytics, you can import your Goals into Google Ads, which will allow you to do conversion tracking for your campaigns. Conversion tracking will help you optimize your Google Ads campaigns and get the most out of your budget. Once you have your accounts linked and conversions imported into Google Ads, you are ready to create your first search campaign. You want to go to the Campaign screen and click on the button to add a new campaign, then select Search campaign, and set your goal of Sales, Leads, or Website Traffic. We usually choose sales or leads because it will let you optimize your budget and your campaign. Then, you can start setting up your campaign by naming the campaign, choosing your budget, adding additional audiences, choosing your location targeting, language targeting, bidding strategy, and setting up Google Ads Ad Extensions like Sitelink Extensions and Callout Extensions. Next, you will start setting up your Ad Groups. You can optimize for a great quality score and Ad rank by setting up organized Ad Groups and an organized campaign. The better you group your keywords into Ad Groups, the better the user experience you are giving to potential customers. We talk about Keyword Match Types like modified broad match, broad match, phrase match, and exact match keywords. We set-up all of our Ad Groups and then click continue to start creating our Ads. You will be setting up Google Search Ads and we recommend created 3 ads for each ad group. Once you set-up your ads, you can click submit and your campaign will be created. Our preferred bidding strategies are Target CPA bidding and Target ROAS bidding.
