So I'm hoping in this video to give all the clarification. So I'm in my AdWords and if you go to all campaigns you can see and I can see all my campaigns right now. So these are all different campaigns. So just to let you know the quick version is campaigns are on the top within one campaign there could be multiple ad groups where every ad group has only one campaign every campaign can have multiple ad groups. So it goes campaign ad groups and then from there each ad group can have multiple ads. So let me explain this a little bit more let me show you what I mean. So let's go into one of my campaigns. So this is a campaign I have and it's called Bailar dance where within that I have one ad group and its Bailar dancer that used to be our old name. So we still bid on that just to just in case people are searching for it within there I've got a few different keywords I can show you these because it's nothing special probably should hide some of the other stuff I have going on here and we have multiple ads here. So within this one campaign we have one ad word if for this example let me see if I can find another one that I'm willing to share I'll just go I just go back towards like tart colors alright. So that's a good example bike tart colors with under Biketards colors I have 13 different ad groups and. So the one campaign bike tarred colors has at these different ad groups and then what you can do on the campaign level you can set a bunch of different things you can set what locations you want to show it to and that will mean like. So if I were to say I just want to show this to people in California all these different ad groups underneath the category of campaign would only show to people in California you can change all these different you change the devices could change the mobile bid adjustment you can't do that on the ad group level what you can do. So let's look at the ad group okay yeah settings no but you have two different ads. So these two different ads are under the aqua Biketards ad group and I set my keywords under the ad group. So that's kind of the difference ad groups is by our campaigns is kind of the big general thing it helps you organize stuff but ad groups to me is where the real meat is this is where you're putting your keywords this is where you're putting your ads and you want your ad groups and the keywords and the ads to be is tightly targeted as possible and they want you want them to be correlated. So it for instance my aqua Biketards I have aqua Biketards aquamarine Biketards those are the two different keywords I have and then if you go into ads this one's more of just a test that I put up but you see this one was actually the real one that I think will do better and it says aqua Biketards 30% off. So that is like what I'm talking about here we're not to say it needs to be really tightly correlated. So I have Biketards as my main campaign under there is the ad group of aqua Biketards and then from there I have two different ads aqua Biketards and you see I have the keyword right I have the keyword aqua bike tars is what I'm bidding on and aqua bike charts 30% off is right in my ad. My name is Tran Ngo and I'm a product marketing manager here at Google, focused on AdWords Best Practices. Today, we're going to be talking about 3 things. First, how to choose the best targeting setting for your strategy. Second, how to adjust your remarketing bids. And third, how to grow your remarketing volume. 00:32 First, lets go over how to choose the best targeting setting for your strategy. Bid Only is great for when you want to preserve existing campaign settings, keywords and ad copy. You'll be using the Bid Only setting when you use the RLSA bid adjustment. This setting doesn't restrict your ads to your targeting method. It's also the most common setting used with RLSA, as it is the easiest set up and bid adjustments can increase traffic from highly valuable users. Our second bid setting, Target and Bid works best when you want to test broadening your keywords and adjusting your message. It will restrict your ads to showing for the targeting method or remarketing lists you've chosen. The only drawback is that it requires you to set up and maintain a separate RLSA-only adgroup or campaign. 01:20 Second, let's go over how to adjust your remarketing bids for success. Because these remarketing lists perform so well, you can often raise bids by plus 100% or more to compete for top slots while continuing to hit overall ROI goals within your lists. You'll want to segment your bids based on your conversion funnel. Since we know that cart abandonners and recent converters have indicated the most interest in purchasing a product from you and generally skew high conversion rates, you'll want to apply higher modified bids for these segments. 01:54 Third, let's dive into growing your remarketing volume. You'll want to target broader keywords and match types to grow volume. Since remarketing reaches higher intent customers, broader keywords and match types have a better chance to perform well with them. This can expand the reach and impact of your search campaigns. Let's dive into an example. Let's say we're a cruise company selling cruise packages, because we all need a vacation. We may only be able to afford to have keywords like "Hawaiian cruises" on phrase match type and "tropical cruises" on exact match type in our account. Because RLSA brings back customers who are familiar with your brand, broad keywords like "cruises" and "best cruises" on broad match type havea better chance of performing well. 02:39 Let's recap what we've learned here. First, make sure you choose the best targeting settings when you set up your remarketing list. Second, raise your bids by 100% or more to compete for the best ad slots. Third, target broader keywords and match types to grow volume. This brings us to the end of our video series for Remarketing Lists for Search Ads best practices. You can set a margin of up to $100 and see if it works, if it doesn’t, you can evaluate what seems to be working and not working with your ads, probably your website or your landing page. Or If you’re really afraid of spending, start with $5 a day, that way, you won’t be spending a lot of money and you can see if it’s working or not for you. That way, for only $5, which isn’t much to lose, you can test your website and start getting some traffic there, since Adwords is one of the quickest way to get people coming to your website, why not give it a try. I’ve tried spending around $200 to $250 for Adwords, immediately, however, it didn’t work immediately. I tried to check what was working and made a sale of $500 not much longer. There’s really no generic answer to this question but it really depends on how much you are willing to lose and the type of products you sell.
